Ibanez isn't starting Thursday's game against the Angels.

Ibanez recorded hits in each of his last four appearances and went 5-for-17 with a double, two RBI, a run and three strikeouts during that time. However, Brad Miller will shift to third base Thursday while Willie Calhoun starts in left field.

Lopez will start at second base and bat ninth in Thursday's game against the Tigers.

Lopez served as the Royals' No. 8 hitter in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to St. Louis, but he's otherwise slotted in at the bottom of the order in each of Kansas City's games this season. With Adalberto Mondesi back to full health and with Bobby Witt breaking camp with the big club, the Royals don't have room for Lopez near the top of the lineup, even though he posted a .365 on-base average in 2021 and finished the campaign as the team's No. 2 hitter. For his part, Lopez hasn't let the move down the lineup affect his performance thus far, as he enters Thursday's game with a .357/.400/.429 slash line across 16 plate appearances.

Torres went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two strikeouts during Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the Blue Jays.

With two outs in the eighth inning, Torres took the first pitch he saw -- a 93 mph fastball -- from Trevor Richards deep to center field, cutting Toronto's lead to 6-4. The home run was the lone bright spot for the middle infielder after he failed to get the ball out of the infield in his first three at-bats. Torres is currently in the midst of a four-game hitting streak, but he's also struck out four times over his last three games.

Miller went 3-for-5 with two solo home runs in Wednesday's victory over the Reds.

Miller went deep off Nick Lodolo in the top of the third inning before launching another solo shot in the eighth off Dauri Moreta. The long balls were his first two of the season and the multi-hit effort was his fourth straight. Miller has been red-hot at the plate, going 11-for-21 with seven extra-base hits and six RBI over the last four contests.

Altuve went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in a 3-2 loss Wednesday in Arizona.

Altuve singled to lead off the first and sixth innings but was left stranded in both cases. It was the second stolen base of the year for the seven-time All-Star. After recording only one hit in his first four games, the multi-hit performance is a hopeful sign moving forward. He has now reached base safely twice in consecutive games.

Hernandez started at third base and went 0-for-4 in Wednesday's 3-2 extra-inning win over Houston.

Hernandez was recently called up from Triple-A Reno after the Diamondbacks optioned Drew Ellis, and Wednesday marked his first start. The moves are part of the team's ongoing carousel at third base. The organization is essentially biding its time until Josh Rojas (oblique) is healthy enough to man the hot corner, but until then, both Hernandez and Sergio Alcantara will get at-bats.

Marte went 1-for-3 with two RBI and was hit by a pitch in Wednesday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Astros.

Marte knocked in his first two runs of the season, but neither was the result of a base hit. He was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the second inning before producing a bases-loaded, walkoff sacrifice fly in the 10th. The Diamondbacks are still struggling offensively -- Wednesday's six-hit output (all singles) were a season high -- but they are working the plate. Their nine walks Wednesday featured prominently in both scoring rallies, and they lead MLB with 33 free passes over six games.

Lux went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and three strikeouts Wednesday against the Twins.

Lux tallied his first long ball of the season in the middle of a trio of consecutive home runs for the Dodgers in the eighth inning. His lack of contact in other plate appearances was a bit alarming, but he had not struck out across his first four starts of the campaign. Overall, Lux has shown strong form early on, tallying six hits across 20 total plate appearances while also recording two extra-base knocks.

Hernandez began the season hitless across his first four games, but he has now tallied multiple knocks in consecutive starts. He got Boston on the board with a solo home run in the third inning before delivering an RBI double one frame later. Hernandez remains a fixture as the leadoff hitter in a strong Red Sox lineup, which should help him rack up runs scored if he can continue to reach base consistently.

Frazier is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

The lefty-hitting Frazier is getting his first off day of the season while Seattle manager Scott Servais looks to play matchups against Chicago southpaw Dallas Keuchel. The switch-hitting Abraham Toro will replace Frazier as the Mariners' second baseman and leadoff man.
