Gorman is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

It's the first time since April 16 that Gorman isn't in the lineup against a right-hander when that game wasn't part of a doubleheader. The Cardinals are using Willson Contreras at designated hitter and Alec Burleson at first base Tuesday.

Espinal started at third base and went 1-for-3 in Monday's 4-0 loss to Atlanta.

The hot-hitting Espinal got the start over a slumping Noelvi Marte (3-for-22 in last six games) and extended his hit streak to six games. It was Cincinnati's lone hit. The versatile Espinal is 11-for-22 with two doubles and five RBI during the hot stretch.

Urias went 3-for-4 in Monday's 7-6 win over the Mariners in 11 innings.

Urias provided some steady hitting from the No. 9 spot, though all three hits were singles and he wasn't directly involved in any scoring plays. Since April 20, he's been a regular in the Athletics' lineup, and he's gone 14-for-48 (.292) in that span. That has him up to a .272 batting average on the year to go with an .871 OPS, five home runs, nine RBI, eight runs scored and no stolen bases. Urias is holding down a starting role at second base, and with Zack Gelof (wrist/ribs) pausing his rehab assignment Monday, Urias should get a longer look in the lineup.

Barrero went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Monday's 6-3 win against the Pirates.

Barrero plated half of the Cardinals' runs in the contest, knocking a solo shot in the third inning and adding a two-run double in the sixth. The homer was the 27-year-old's first as a big-leaguer since 2023 -- he spent all of his time last year and the beginning of this season in the minors. Barrero has gotten into six contests with the Cardinals since being called up in late April and has gone 3-for-13.

Kim went 2-for-4 with an RBI, one run scored and a stolen base in Monday's win over Miami.

Kim made his first career MLB start Monday after appearing as a pinch runner and swiping a bag Sunday against Atlanta. He singled and stole second base in the fifth inning before coming around to score on Shohei Ohtani's home run. Kim posted a .798 OPS with 14 extra-base hits and 13 steals in 13 attempts across 28 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City before his promotion.

Gelof (wrist) had his rehab assignment paused after being diagnosed with a stress reaction in his ribs, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Gelof is on a rehab stint with Triple-A Las Vegas that started Tuesday as he continues to work back from surgery on his right wrist, but he's now being bothered by his ribs. He'll be shut down from swinging a bat until he can get the stress reaction under control, likely pushing his 2025 debut to late May in a best-case scenario.

The Mets recalled Baty from Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.

He's grabbing the roster spot vacated by Jesse Winker (oblique). Baty is behind Luisangel Acuna and Jeff McNeil in the pecking order at second base and behind Mark Vientos at third base. His best shot at playing time in the short term might be at designated hitter, although Starling Marte should be at the top of the depth chart there.

Fitzgerald (rib) is doing light activities and rehab work, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Fitzgerald suffered a left rib fracture in late April and finally landed on the 10-day injured list on May 1 after tests revealed the diagnosis. He is expected to be sidelined at least two weeks, but it's a good sign that he's already doing some activities.

Acuna is not in the Mets' starting lineup against the Diamondbacks on Monday.

Acuna played in both games of Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, going 3-for-8 with one stolen base and one run scored. He'll get a breather Monday while Jeff McNeil starts at second base and bats eighth against Diamondbacks right-hander Ryne Nelson.

Rodgers is not in the Astros' starting lineup against the Brewers on Monday.

Rodgers will be in the dugout for the beginning of Monday's game while Mauricio Dubon starts at the keystone and bats ninth against Brewers right-hander Tobias Myers. Rodgers has gone 4-for-15 with two runs scored over his last four games.
