Michael Massey 2B | KC
Royals' Michael Massey: Out of lineup
Massey will sit Saturday against Seattle.
Massey has been starting regularly since early August, but he now finds himself on the bench for the second time in three games. His .248/.323/.362 line through his first 44 major-league games doesn't make a great case for everyday at-bats, and he's gone just 1-for-16 with seven strikeouts in his last four appearances. Nicky Lopez will start at second base Saturday.

Giants' David Villar: Pops two-run blast
Villar went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-5 win over the Diamondbacks.

Gimenez has had a good week, going 8-for-20 with five RBI, four runs and a steal in his last five games. The speedy infielder is up to 19 steals this year, matching his total from the previous two years combined. He's added a .302/.374/.473 slash line with 16 home runs, 67 RBI, 63 runs scored, 25 doubles and three triples in 138 contests.

Ernie Clement 2B | TOR
Athletics' Ernie Clement: Activated by Athletics
Clement was added to the Athletics' active roster Saturday.
The 26-year-old was claimed off waivers by Oakland on Friday and will join the active roster a day later after Sheldon Neuse was designated for assignment. Clement hit .200 with 18 runs and six RBI over 64 games with the Guardians earlier in the year, and he should serve as a utility man with his new club.

Rylan Bannon 2B | NYM
Braves' Rylan Bannon: Sent down Saturday
Bannon was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.

Christian Arroyo 2B | NYM
Red Sox's Christian Arroyo: Remains out of lineup
Arroyo (illness) isn't starting Saturday against the Yankees, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Remains infielder for now
Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Rojas will remain an infielder through the end of the season, Jose M. Romero of the Arizona Republic reprots.
Rojas has had recent defensive issues and was held out Friday's starting lineup for the third straight game -- two against a lefty and one against a righty. The recent lineup decisions appear to be more about the defensive issues than a lefty-on-lefty matter, but Rojas has not started the last four against lefties. Lovullo said he'll continue to use him as an infielder, but there will be discussions in the offseason about what may be the best fit for Rojas, who has experience in the outfield and at multiple infield positions. Next season's outfield appears well stocked, so he would be unlikely to get 500 plate appearances if limited to outfield. Pending any offseason acquisitions, Rojas could move back to being a super utility player, but that would also cap his opportunities.

Ji-Hwan Bae 2B | NYM
Pirates' Ji-hwan Bae: Two steals in debut
Bae went 1-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Cubs.
Bae reached base twice and stole second base each time, including in the bottom of the ninth after his first career MLB hit. The 23-year-old second baseman swiped 30 bags in 38 attempts with Triple-A Indianapolis this season, and he showed no signs of slowing down in his debut with the Pirates. Bae will look to use the last few weeks of the 2022 campaign to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster for 2023.

He showed no ill effects and extended his hitting streak to five games, during which he's collected 10 hits across 17 at-bats with six runs scored. Altuve has had an excellent season with a .297/.384/.515 slash line across 571 plate appearances.
