Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Cubs' Isaac Paredes: Powers team to win Tuesday
Paredes went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Twins.
Paredes connected for a three-run shot against Minnesota starter Pablo Lopez in the first inning, his first home run with the Cubs and 17th of the season. The 25-year-old had gotten off to a bit of a slow start with his new team, as he came into the night mired in a 3-for-27 slump over seven games since getting traded to Chicago. Paredes should continue to play regularly, however, and Tuesday's big effort could jump start a hot streak for the talented hitter.

Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL
Angels' Luis Rengifo: Out for season
Rengifo underwent season-ending surgery on his wrist Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Rengifo landed on the injured list Saturday due to right wrist inflammation -- the second time this season his wrist has caused him to spend time on the IL. The timing of his procedure will put an early end to his 2024 campaign, but he is expected to be ready for the start of spring training next year. He'll finish with a .300/.347/.417 slash line with six homers, 30 RBI and 24 steals across 78 games.

Brooks Lee SS | MIN
Twins' Brooks Lee: Back in lineup Tuesday
Lee (shoulder) is starting at second base and batting ninth Tuesday against the Cubs.
Lee sat out the past two games while dealing with soreness in his right shoulder, but he's ready to rejoin the lineup for Tuesday's matchup at Wrigley Field. The 23-year-old has struggled at the plate since the All-Star break with a .229/.309/.229 slash line in 13 games.

Mark Vientos DH | NYM
Mets' Mark Vientos: Back in lineup
Vientos (ankle) will start at third base and bat fifth Tuesday against the Rockies.
Vientos fouled a ball off his right ankle Sunday and was forced to sit out Monday's contest as a result, but it no longer seems to be an issue heading into Tuesday. The 24-year-old was held hitless during his last game, snapping a six-game hit streak that saw him go 6-for-22 with two homers and four RBI.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Angels' Anthony Rendon: Reinstated from injured list
The Angels activated Rendon (back) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
The 34-year-old is back on the active roster after spending the 10-day minimum on the shelf due to lower-back inflammation. Rendon will have to wait a day before seeing game action, however, since Tuesday's game was postponed into a doubleheader Wednesday.

Emmanuel Rivera 3B | BAL
Marlins' Emmanuel Rivera: Out of Tuesday's lineup
Rivera is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Rivera started the previous four games and will receive Tuesday off after going 5-for-14 with two walks, a run and a steal during that stretch. Jake Burger will man the hot corner while Jesus Sanchez receives a turn at designated hitter.

Paul DeJong SS | NYY
Royals' Paul DeJong: On bench again
DeJong is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.
DeJong started at third base in four of the Royals' first five games after being traded from the White Sox, but he's now been withheld from the starting lineup for back-to-back contests. Maikel Garcia will play the hot corner while Michael Massey plays the keystone.

Trey Lipscomb 3B | WAS
Nationals' Trey Lipscomb: Idle again
Lipscomb is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.
Lipscomb will cede third-base duties to Ildemaro Vargas for a second consecutive game. It hasn't been announced that Lipscomb is dealing with an injury, so it seems like his playing time is declining. Lipscomb is 4-for-37 (.108) at the plate since the All-Star break while Vargas is 10-for-30 (.333) during that stretch.
