Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Resting Friday
Hayes is not in the starting nine for Friday's game against the Giants.
Hayes has been productive of late, hitting .324 with a homer and a pair of steals across his last nine games. Rodolfo Castro will take over at third base in his absence.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Giants' J.D. Davis: Not starting Friday
Davis will sit Friday against the Pirates, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Since arriving in a deadline-day deal with the Mets, Davis has started five of eight games for the Giants. That may have been due to the fact that San Francisco faced so many lefties during that time, however. He's started against all four southpaws the team has faced over that stretch, but his off day here against Bryse Wilson means he's been out of the lineup against three out of four righties. Wilmer Flores will take over at third base.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Sitting Friday
Longoria will not be in the lineup Friday against the Pirates, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
An off day here against Bryse Wilson means that Longoria has started against two lefties while sitting against two righties since his return from a hamstring injury. It's possible that's been due to the Giants' desire to avoid using him on back-to-back days initially upon his return, rather than a signal that he's slipping into the small side of a platoon. Whatever the reason, it will be LaMonte Wade who starts at designated hitter Friday.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Starting Friday
Muncy (hand) is starting Friday's game against the Royals, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Muncy exited Wednesday's game against the Twins after a groundball hit him in the hand, but he'll be back in the lineup after the Dodgers' off day Thursday. He's serving as the designated hitter and batting seventh Friday.

Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Marlins' Brian Anderson: Activated by Marlins
Anderson (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Anderson spent just under three weeks on the injured list but recently began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville and went 5-for-16 with two home runs, two doubles, four runs, a walk and five strikeouts. He could serve as the Marlins' primary third baseman now that he's back to full health, but given that Charles Leblanc has been hitting extremely well in his place, Anderson might see significant action in an outfield corner instead.

Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Swipes 13th bag
Hayes went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base Thursday against the Diamondbacks.
Hayes reached base on an infield single to begin the fourth inning and proceeded to steal third base before coming around to score. He has at least one hit in each of his last eight starts, maintaining a .324 average with six RBI, three runs scored and two stolen bases in that span. For the season, Hayes is hitting .251/.323/.358 to go along with six homers and 13 stolen bases across 434 plate appearances.

Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Slugs fourth August homer
McMahon went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday against the Cardinals.
He went yard back-to-back with Brendan Rodgers in the seventh inning, giving McMahon his 12th homer of the season. Four of those have come in his last seven games, during which time he has hit .318 with nine RBI and seven runs scored. The hot stretch has increased McMahon's overall line to .243/.337/.402 across 427 plate appearances on the campaign.

Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Reaches twice, steals base
Wisdom went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Reds in the Field of Dreams Game.
Wisdom is more known for his power, slugging a team-high 20 home runs this season following 28 homers in 2021, but he's also now up to seven stolen bases in 2022, which is a new career high. The 30-year-old isn't likely to be an elite contributor in the category the rest of the season, but any steals he provides are an added bonus for fantasy managers who count on him for long balls.
-
Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA
Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Tallies three hits, stolen base
Madrigal went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Reds.
Madrigal led off for the Cubs in the Field of Dreams Game in Iowa, and the second baseman looked comfortable in the cornfield, leading all players with the three hits. The 25-year-old has taken over as the team's top option at the keystone, and he's slashing .400/.478/.450 across seven games since returning from the injured list at the beginning of August.

Emmanuel Rivera 3B | BAL
Diamondbacks' Emmanuel Rivera: Enjoys big game Thursday
Rivera 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, two runs and three RBI in Thursday's 9-3 win against the Pirates.
Rivera hit out of the second spot in the order and came through with a big performance for Arizona, smacking a solo homer in the fourth inning and a two-run double in the seventh. He added another double in the eighth frame for his first three-hit effort of the campaign. Since joining the Diamondbacks from the Royals on Aug. 1, Rivera is slashing .368/.429/.842 with two homers, three doubles and four RBI through six contests.
