  • Jonah Heim C | ATH

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Getting rest Sunday

Heim is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Heim will get a breather after he started each of the last six games either behind the plate or at designated hitter. Kyle Higashioka will handle catching duties Sunday, forming a battery with starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi.

  • Mets' Hayden Senger: Returning to bench role

Senger is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Senger had started behind the dish in six of the previous seven games, but he'll likely see his playing time take a hit now that Luis Torrens has recovered from a bruised forearm. Senger may soon find himself off the 26-man active roster entirely, as Francisco Alvarez (hand) has already begun a minor-league rehab assignment and is nearing reinstatement from the 10-day injured list.

  • Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Getting Sunday off

Moreno is not in the Diamondbacks' starting lineup against the Brewers on Sunday.

Moreno will rest for the series finale while Jose Herrera starts behind home plate and bats ninth against Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta. Moreno has gone 1-for-12 with two walks, one run scored and three strikeouts over his last four starts.

  • Yainer Diaz C | HOU

Astros' Yainer Diaz: Getting breather Sunday

Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

Victor Caratini will receive the starting nod behind the dish while Diaz rests for a day game after a night game. Though he went 0-for-4 in Saturday's 4-1 loss, Diaz busted out of his slump in a big way in the series opener Friday, going 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, five RBI and an additional run in the Astros' 14-3 victory.

  • Keibert Ruiz C | WAS

Nationals' Keibert Ruiz: Three more hits Saturday

Ruiz went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in Saturday's loss to the Marlins.

The backstop extended his current hitting streak to six games, and he's hit safely in 12 of 13 contests to kick off 2025. That's resulted in an eye-popping .370/.442/.543 slash line for Ruiz with two homers, nine runs and 10 RBI as he shoulders a heavy early workload for the Nats.

  • Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Getting afternoon off

O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.

O'Hoppe will get some rest for the day game after he caught all nine innings of Saturday night's 4-1 win. Travis d'Arnaud will handle catching duties for the Angels.

  • Ryan Jeffers C | MIN

Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Back in action Sunday

Jeffers (thumb) will start at catcher and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Tigers.

Jeffers will return to the lineup after being on the bench for the last two games due to a swollen thumb. Christian Vazquez will exit the lineup to make room behind the plate for Jeffers, who has gone 7-for-32 (.219 average) with zero home runs, four RBI and one run through his first nine games.

  • Joey Bart C | CHW

Pirates' Joey Bart: Remains out Sunday

Bart (back) is not in the Pirates' starting lineup against the Reds on Sunday.

Bart continues to work through lower-back discomfort and will miss a second straight game as a result. Henry Davis will once again start behind home plate and bat ninth against Reds right-hander Hunter Greene.

  • Bo Naylor C | MIL

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Sitting against lefty

Naylor is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Naylor will head to the bench along with fellow left-handed batters Nolan Jones and Kyle Manzardo while the Royals send southpaw Cole Ragans to the hill for the series finale. Austin Hedges will handle the catching duties for Cleveland.

  • Austin Wells C | NYY

Yankees' Austin Wells: Receiving afternoon off

Wells is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

He'll get a breather for the afternoon game after he started behind the dish in the first two contests of the series, going 2-for-6 with a double and an RBI. J.C. Escarra will draw the start at catcher Sunday.
