Canha went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and another run scored during Thursday's win over the Tigers.

Since losing his leadoff spot in the batting order Friday, Canha has begun heating up, collecting six hits in consecutive games, including two homers in that span. The 32-year-old was hitting sixth this time around. Overall this season, Canha has 14 homers to his name along with a .236/.363/.402 slash line.

Cabrera isn't starting Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Cabrera went 2-for-4 with three RBI while blasting his 15th home run of the season Wednesday. Jeimer Candelario will serve as the designated hitter while Harold Castro enters the lineup at third base.

Cabrera hit his milestone 500th career home run Aug. 22 but is still looking to finish his 17th MLB season with a few more long balls. The veteran is up to 15 for the season and 502 in his career. Cabrera can now set his sights on moving up the list of career home-run leaders, as he's sitting in 28th place but is just two behind Eddie Murray in 27th. The Tigers figure to keep giving the 38-year-old opportunities to chase history down the stretch.

Choi (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment with the rookie-level Florida Coast League affiliate Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Choi felt good after fielding grounders Tuesday, and he'll test his hamstring during pregame workouts again Wednesday. Although it's encouraging that he's on track to return to game action Thursday, he'll likely require a lengthy rehab assignment since manager Kevin Cash said Tuesday that the 30-year-old isn't close to being activated.

Ohtani (hand/wrist) will serve as the starting pitcher Friday against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Ohtani had Tuesday's scheduled start pushed back after being hit by a pitch in the right hand/wrist over the weekend, but he completed a bullpen session Wednesday and has been cleared to rejoin the rotation. It never appeared to be a serious issue, as the 27-year-old remained in the lineup as the designated hitter the past couple days. He'll bat second in Wednesday's series finale against the Yankees.

Stanton isn't starting Wednesday against the Angels.

Stanton will get a rare day off after he went 5-for-11 with a home run, four RBI and a strikeout across the last three games. Aaron Judge will shift to right field while Brett Gardner starts in center.

Ohtani (hand/wrist) threw a bullpen session Wednesday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Ohtani was unable to start as a pitcher Tuesday after he was hit by a pitch on his right hand/wrist. However, he's remained in the lineup as a designated hitter, and he hit his 42nd home run of the season Monday. He tentatively lines up to start Saturday's game at home against the Rangers as a pitcher, but more clarity regarding his status will likely be revealed based on how he feels after Wednesday's throwing session.

Ramirez (knee) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday.

Ramirez recently made four rehab appearances at High-A Lake County and went 4-for-13 with a solo home run and a strikeout. The 26-year-old spent just under three weeks on the shelf but is starting in left field and batting sixth in his return to the lineup against the Royals on Wednesday.

Ohtani went 0-for-2 with two walks, two stolen bases and two runs scored in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Yankees.

Ohtani didn't get any hits Tuesday, but he reached twice via walk and made an impact with his baserunning by swiping second in the fourth inning and stealing home in the fifth. The 26-year-old is now tied for sixth in all of baseball with 22 steals. In addition, he still leads MLB with 42 homers and is seventh with 90 RBI.

Lewis (knee) ran the bases Tuesday, Corey Brock of The Athletic reports.

Lewis was previously closing in on beginning a rehab assignment, but those plans were put on hold after he experienced general body soreness following a recent workout. It's still not clear when he could go to the minors for live game action, but his ability to run the bases Tuesday is a sign that the previous soreness has subsided. Lewis will need to get several games under his belt in the minors before being activated, but if he begins a rehab stint in the next couple of days, he should have a chance to return to the Mariners' roster by the second week of September.
