Swanson (4-2) blew the save but was credited with the win in Sunday's victory over the Red Sox, giving up a solo home run to Rafael Devers and striking out two in the ninth inning.

With Jordan Romano having pitched the prior two days, Swanson got a chance to protect a 2-1 lead in the ninth but instead watched Devers slash a two-out, two-strike fastball over the fence in the left-field corner. An RBI triple by Matt Chapman in the bottom of the ninth then bailed Swanson out and gave him the win. It's the first run the right-hander had allowed since Aug. 5, snapping a 12-appearance scoreless streak, and the first homer he'd served up since July 1. On the season, Swanson has a 3.06 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 70:19 K:BB through 61.2 innings while adding a career-high 28 holds, four wins and four saves.

Green struck out two in a perfect 1.1 innings of relief Sunday to record his first hold of the season in a win over the Red Sox.

The 32-year-old right-hander has struggled since being activated from the 60-day IL at the beginning of September, posting a 7.36 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 8:3 K:BB through 7.1 innings, but he has three wins in eight appearances in addition to Sunday's hold. Green has thrown only 22.1 innings the last two seasons due to Tommy John surgery in June 2022, but a $6.25 million player option for 2024 could ensure he remains in the Toronto bullpen next year if he wants to rehabilitate his market value. Green produced a 3.21 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 10.8 K/9 over 109.1 innings for the Yankees in his last two fully healthy campaigns.

Fairbanks blew the save in Sunday's 5-4 loss against the Orioles. He allowed two runs on three hits while striking out four over two innings.

The Rays turned to Fairbanks in the eighth inning Sunday, when he struck out the first two batters before Adley Rutschman belted a solo homer, cutting Tampa's lead to 3-2. Fairbanks again got two quick outs in the ninth before Baltimore tied the game with a pair of two-out hits, sticking the Rays' closer with just his second blown save in his last 37 appearances. Overall, Fairbanks is now 24-for-27 in save chances with a 2.49 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 65:16 K:BB through 43.1 innings this season. He'll likely get a couple days off after throwing 39 pitches Sunday, though Fairbanks should remain one of the better closing options down the stretch.

The Angels outrighted Reyes to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.

Reyes will stick around in the Anaheim organization after going unclaimed off waivers when he was designated for assignment last week. The 30-year-old reliever has made eight relief appearances at the big-league level in 2023, pitching to a 7.45 ERA and 1.76 WHIP over 9.2 innings.

Diaz (knee) will throw at least one bullpen session at Port St. Lucie this week, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

While the Mets haven't provided a specific reason why the right-hander will take the mound in Florida rather than New York, the team's pitching lab is located at the Port St. Lucie complex. Time is running out for Diaz to make an appearance in the majors before the end of the regular season, but the team has yet to rule it out.

Garcia (1-2) picked up the win in Sunday's extra-innings victory over the Brewers, allowing one hit and two walks over two scoreless innings. He struck out one.

Working the 10th and 11th frames, Garcia kept the phantom runner from crossing the plate each time and got rewarded with his first MLB win. The rookie left-hander has been a solid addition to the Nationals' bullpen since being picked up from the Marlins on waivers, posting a 4.33 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 29:10 K:BB through 27 innings.

Rainey (elbow) could be activated from the 60-day injured list before the end of the regular season, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander is in the final stages of his recovery from last year's Tommy John surgery, and he's expected to throw a couple bullpen sessions this week during Washington's final homestand of the season before a decision is made on whether to activate him from the 60-day IL. "I know [pitching coach Jim] Hickey wants to see him throw up here and then see where he's at, and then we'll go from there," manager Dave Martinez said Friday. "I don't want to shut him down, I want him to continue pitching. There could be a chance that he comes up here, pitches one or two games. We'll see when that day comes." Rainey recorded 12 saves in 2022 before landing on the injured list in July, and he figures to be part of the Nats' high-leverage mix in 2024.

Young (illness) rejoined teammates in New York over the weekend but has not yet been activated, MLB.com reports.

Young tested positive for COVID-19 during his rehab assignment for a hamstring injury, which no longer appears to be an issue. He fired a scoreless inning for Triple-A Louisville on Friday, striking out all three batters faced.

Jarvis struck out one over two scoreless innings in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Cubs.

Jarvis was the last of four Arizona relievers in support of starter Ryne Nelson, who was yanked after 3.1 innings (75 pitches, 40 strikes). The bullpen combined for 6.2 shutout innings, as the Diamondbacks swept the Cubs and leapfrogged them in the wild card race. Jarvis, who was called up Sunday, can provide length should the club need a starter over the final 11 games.

Avila improved to 2-2 on the season in Sunday's 10-1 win over the Athletics, tossing three scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and one walk and striking out five.

Avila was deployed in bulk relief, entering the game after Nick Martinez opened the contest with three shutout frames. The 26-year-old Avila has now sandwiched a pair of scoreless outings around a disastrous start against the Dodgers on Monday, when he allowed seven earned runs over 2.2 innings. Avila should retain a spot in San Diego's rotation during the upcoming week, though he could be deployed behind Martinez once again when his turn comes up next weekend versus St. Louis.
