Bednar walked two and struck out one in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Angels.

Bednar loaded the bases with one out, but got Trey Cabbage to hit into a game-ending double play. This was the fourth time in his last nine appearances that Bednar hass allowed multiple baserunners. The closer is up to 19 saves this season while maintaining an excellent 1.15 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 47:9 K:BB through 39 innings.

Perez (3-1) struck out the only batter he faced to earn the win in Saturday's 6-5 victory over the Rays.

Perez got the last out of the eighth inning after newcomer Shintaro Fujinami allowed the tying run to score. The Orioles then retook the lead in the ninth inning, and Felix Bautista slammed the door to get Perez the win in his third appearance since returning from forearm soreness. Perez has allowed multiple runs in five of his last 14 outings, but he's kept runs off the board in the other nine appearances in that span. Overall, he's at a 4.68 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 26:19 K:BB with eight holds through 32.2 innings. The southpaw remains part of the Orioles' high-leverage mix, but Yennier Cano sees most of the setup work and Danny Coulombe is likely considered the top southpaw in this bullpen.

Hernandez (0-6) allowed a run on one hit and struck out one over one inning to take the loss Saturday versus the Yankees.

Hernandez has allowed two runs over 9.1 innings in July, but both instances led to him taking losses. His mistake Saturday resulted in a solo home run by DJ LeMahieu in the seventh inning. Hernandez has a solid 3.86 ERA for the season, but his 1.02 WHIP and 57:13 K:BB through 49 innings suggests he's gotten a little unlucky. He's added seven holds and two blown saves while often seeing high-leverage spots.

Duran allowed two hits and struck out three in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 3-2 win over the White Sox.

Duran has given up 11 hits over 8.1 innings in July, but this was his fourth consecutive scoreless outing. He's also converted six of seven save chances this month. The closer has maintained a 2.06 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 52:15 K:BB with 17 saves in 20 tries over 39.1 innings this season. He's given up five runs (four earned) in July, accounting for nearly half of his total runs allowed for the year.

Detroit optioned White to Triple-A Toledo after Saturday's loss to the Padres, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

White allowed one earned run on one hit and two walks over 1.2 innings of relief as the Tigers fell 14-3 to San Diego on Saturday at Comerica Park. He's registered a 4.95 ERA in 20 total innings this season at the big-league level. Alex Faedo will be called up in a corresponding roster move to start Sunday's series finale versus the Padres.

Alexander will serve as the Giants' opening pitcher Sunday versus the Nationals, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Anthony DeSclafani had been listed as the Giants' probable starter, but he will instead operate in bulk relief. Alexander, 34, carries a 3.04 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB in 26.2 innings (31 appearances) this season at the MLB level.

Bautista picked up the save in Saturday's 6-5 victory over the Rays. He struck out two over a perfect inning.

Saturday's outing marked Bautista's seventh time not allowing a hit over his last eight appearances (10.1 innings), while also collecting his 27th save of 2023. Through 44 games (48 innings), Bautista boasts the third-most saves in MLB while owning an elite 0.94 ERA and a 93:19 K:BB.

Holmes picked up the save Saturday against the Royals, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out two over a scoreless inning.

Holmes entered the game with a three-run lead in the ninth and got MJ Melendez to go down on strikes in the first at-bat, followed by a groundout by Michael Massey. The right-handed reliever would then allow the next two batters to reach before finally shutting the door on the Royals with a strikeout to end the game, earning his 13th save in the process. Holmes has now converted his last two save attempts and lowered his season ERA to 2.27 with Saturday's scoreless appearance.

Diaz picked up the save in Saturday's 4-2 victory over the Diamondbacks. He allowed one run on two hits while striking out two over one inning.

Diaz struggled to close out Saturday's contest, serving up a solo homer to Corbin Carroll while also allowing a double to Christian Walker in the ninth, though the closer still managed to secure his 29th save of the season. The outing marked his first earned run allowed since July 3 (seven innings), a stretch in which he's a perfect 8-of-8 in save opportunities.

Blach will serve as the Rockies' opener Sunday versus the Marlins, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

It will be his first time working as an opener in 2023. Blach, 32, has allowed 13 runs -- 10 earned -- on 24 hits and two walks in 13.1 innings this season at the major-league level. Connor Seabold, recently demoted to the bullpen, could come on as a bulk reliever for Colorado in Sunday's game.
