  • Mariners' Gregory Santos: Aiming for mid-September return

Santos (knee) is expected to begin a rehab assignment soon and is hopeful to return in mid-September, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

Santos has been sidelined since late April with a knee injury that required surgery. The 25-year-old is getting close to pitching in games, but he'll require a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment before being activated from the 60-day injured list. Santos has a 5.14 ERA in seven big-league innings this season.

  • Angels' Robert Stephenson: Activated Friday

Stephenson (biceps) was activated from the 60-day injured list Friday.

Stephenson has been on the shelf since June 2 due to right biceps inflammation, and after a lengthy rehab process, he's been cleared to rejoin the active roster. The 32-year-old has appeared in just two MLB games this season, tossing a scoreless inning with two strikeouts. He yielded two runs across three innings in three rehab appearances. Chase Silseth was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

  • Matt Sauer RP | LAD

Dodgers' Matt Sauer: Returned to OKC

The Dodgers optioned Sauer to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday.

Sauer was recalled Thursday and yielded two runs on three hits while striking out two over two innings of relief that day against the Rockies. He'll head back to Triple-A on Friday, yielding his spot on the 26-man roster to Tanner Scott. Sauer has a 4.86 ERA and 73:23 K:BB across 76 innings with Oklahoma City this season.

  • Tanner Scott RP | LAD

    Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Officially activated

The Dodgers reinstated Scott (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Friday.

Scott will rejoin the active roster after a month-long stint on the IL with left elbow inflammation, pushing Matt Sauer back to Triple-A. Scott has converted on 19 of 26 save chances this season. He figures to step right back into his closing role.

  • Ryan Brasier RP | TEX

Cubs' Ryan Brasier: Lands on IL with groin strain

The Cubs placed Brasier on the 15-day injured list Friday due to a left groin strain.

The injury may explain Brasier's recent struggles out of the bullpen, with the veteran right-hander allowing eight runs on 11 hits and two walks while striking out three batters across five innings in his last six outings. He'll undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury, but he'll be out of action until at least Sept. 6. In a corresponding move, the Cubs recalled Javier Assad from Triple-A Iowa, and Assad will start against the Angels on Friday.

  • Ben Bowden RP | ATH

Athletics' Ben Bowden: Moved to injured list

The Athletics placed Bowden on the 15-day injured list Friday with a strained left lat.

Bowden appeared in 11 games after being called up from Triple-A Las Vegas on July 23. The 30-year-old will require a stint on the injured list with a lat strain, opening up a spot in the bullpen for Eduarniel Nunez. Bowden has a 4.22 ERA in 10.2 innings with the A's.

  • Jack Perkins P | ATH

Athletics' Jack Perkins: Placed on IL

The Athletics placed Perkins on the 15-day injured list Friday with a strained right shoulder.

Perkins appears to have picked up the injury during Thursday's start against Minnesota, when he yielded two runs over five innings en route to his third win of the campaign. The 25-year-old has a 4.19 ERA in 38.2 innings with the A's this season. Joey Estes was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas to fill Perkins' spot on the roster and presumably in the rotation.

  • Athletics' Eduarniel Nunez: Called up by A's

The Athletics recalled Nunez from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.

Nunez will rejoin the A's active roster for the first time since being optioned Aug. 6. The 26-year-old will fill Ben Bowden's (lat) spot in the bullpen. A trade deadline acquisition from San Diego, Nunez has allowed two runs with a 10:2 K:BB in five innings with Las Vegas.

  • Paul Sewald RP | ARI

Tigers' Paul Sewald: Throwing off mound Saturday

Sewald (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Saturday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

It appears to be the first time Sewald has thrown off a mound since he was diagnosed with a moderate teres major strain in mid-July. The veteran reliever is eligible for activation from the 60-day injured list Sept. 10 and hopes to join the Tigers' bullpen for the stretch run.

  • Jesus Tinoco RP | MIA

Marlins' Jesus Tinoco: Having major surgery

Tinoco (forearm) will undergo surgery to repair his right forearm flexor and is expected to miss most, or all, of the 2026 season, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Tinoco has been on the shelf since June 6 with a strained right forearm and was shut down from throwing Aug. 12. He'll require a procedure to fix his right forearm flexor. Tinoco will have the surgery in early September and could miss the entirety of the 2026 campaign. The 30-year-old ends the 2025 season with a 5.12 ERA and 10:8 K:BB across 19.1 innings.
