  • Matthew Boyd SP | CHC

Tigers' Matt Boyd: Sent back to Toledo

Boyd was optioned to Triple-A Toledo after Sunday's 6-3 loss to Cleveland.

Recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Saturday, Boyd held the Indians scoreless over the final 4.2 innings of Sunday's game. He'll need a few days off after throwing 69 pitches, but it won't be surprising if he's called back up within the next couple weeks.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Mariners' Wade Miley: Takes loss Sunday

Miley (1-2) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three over 7.1 innings to earn the win Sunday at the Angels.

Miley was provided a four-run lead in the first inning, but fortunately the offense was able to put up an additional three runs to get him the victory. After three brutal outings, this was easily his best performance of the season, and it lowered his ERA a full run to 7.04. He'll make his next start Saturday at the Royals.

  • Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Making initial rehab start Thursday

Rodriguez (knee) will make his initial rehab start Thursday at High-A Salem, Scott Lauber of ESPN.com reports.

While he was rumored to be getting the nod at Double-A Portland on Friday, Rodriguez will instead take the mound Thursday, as the Red Sox prefer that he remain on a five-day schedule. If all goes as planned, he'll likely move up to Triple-A Pawtucket, after which he could be activated from the DL.

  • Indians' Carlos Carrasco: Likely headed for the DL

Carrasco (hamstring) is headed for the disabled list, according to manager Terry Francona, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.

Carrasco was forced out of Sunday's start against Detroit due to a left hamstring injury, and upon further evaluation, it doesn't appear Cleveland will take an injury to one of their top pitchers lightly. He's slated to undergo an MRI once he gets back to Cleveland, and the results will help determine the severity of the injury, as well as a potential timeline for a return. Look for an official roster move to be announced in the coming days as well.

  • Carlos Rodon SP | NYY

White Sox's Carlos Rodon: Doesn't factor in decision against Rangers on Saturday

Rodon did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-3 victory over the Rangers, surrendering two hits, two earned runs, and two walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out seven.

The sophomore lefty's mistakes were few and far between, but costly nonetheless. Rodon surrendered his first homer since his first start of the season to Ian Desmond, who tagged him with one on in the second. Otherwise, Rodon had some positives to take out of his third quality start over four trips to the mound, including a season high in strikeouts. Rodon's overall performance had to be a huge sigh of relief after lasting only a third of an inning and giving up five earned runs versus the Angels on April 18.

  • Indians' Carlos Carrasco: Exits Sunday with hamstring injury

Carrasco was forced to leave Sunday's start against the Tigers due to a left hamstring injury.

Carrasco picked up the injury in the second inning while attempting to cover first base. The extent of the right-hander's hamstring injury likely wouldn't be known until team trainers have more time to evaluate his health, but there appears to be some definite risk for a DL stint. A more formal update on Carrasco's condition figures to arrive in the coming days.

  • Corey Kluber SP | BOS

Indians' Corey Kluber: Hurls eight dominant frames in Saturday victory

Kluber (1-3) notched 10 strikeouts while pitching eight innings of two-hit ball, surrendering only an earned run in a 10-1 victory Saturday over the Tigers.

The former Cy Young winner finally looked like himself in 2016, and notched his first victory of the season the hard way, against a potent Tigers lineup in their home park. He did not issue a free pass for the first time all season, displaying excellent control and also inducing 12 swings-and-misses along the way. Although he enjoyed excellent run support, he obviously didn't require it, and put together a highly encouraging bounce-back effort after being knocked around for six earned runs over six innings versus the Mets last Sunday. Kluber will try to keep the momentum going in his start against the Phillies next weekend.

  • Chris Bassitt SP | BAL

Athletics' Chris Bassitt: Shelled for six earned runs in Saturday loss to Blue Jays

Bassitt (0-1) gave up nine hits, six earned runs, two walks, and five strikeouts over five innings in Saturday's 9-3 loss to the Blue Jays.

The 27-year-old righty was blown up by the potent Toronto lineup, surrendering homers to Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki. Bassitt couldn't keep the ball down at Rogers Centre, a near-certain recipe for disaster, giving up 11 flyballs during his time on the mound. His control problems were somewhat muted, but he has surrendered at least two walks in each of his four starts this season. Despite the setback -- considering that Bassitt had turned in quality starts over his previous two trips to the mound -- he still sports a respectable 4.44 ERA over 24.1 innings this season.

  • Indians' Carlos Carrasco: Exits with left leg injury

Carrasco departed Sunday's game in the second inning with an apparent left leg injury.

Carrasco, who was covering first base on the play, had to be helped off the field and into the locker room. It certainly appears as though the issue could cost him some time, but expect further updates on his status in the near future. If he does miss extended time, Trevor Bauer seems to be the likely candidate to take his spot in the starting rotation.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Rangers' Yu Darvish: Still on track for return in mid- or late May

Rangers GM Jon Daniels told MLB Network Radio on Sunday that Darvish (elbow) is expected to return from the disabled list in mid-to-late May.

While Daniels acknowledged Darvish wasn't as sharp as the team had hoped in his most recent bullpen session Thursday, it's not expected to dramatically delay the right-hander's recovery timetable from Tommy John surgery. The Rangers decided to cancel Darvish's rehab assignment at Double-A Frisco that was scheduled for Tuesday, but he could still be called on to pitch with a minor league affiliate at some point later in the week.
