Martinez went 2-for-4 with a two-run single and a run scored during Cleveland's 11-5 loss to Atlanta on Friday.

Martinez helped cut the Guardians' deficit to four runs thanks to his single in the eighth inning that brought Juan Brito and Rhys Hoskins home. Martinez went 3-for-21 (.143) through his first nine games of the regular season, but he has logged at least two hits in each of his last three starts and has gone 8-for-12 (.667) with one home run, six RBI and two runs scored over that span.

Winn was diagnosed with a lower-leg contusion after getting hit by a pitch in Friday's game versus Boston, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Winn ran for himself and played an inning of defense after getting hit by a pitch in the third inning but was eventually pulled in the fifth. The Cardinals are officially labeling his injury as a contusion, however, which suggests he escaped the incident without suffering any structural damage. If the team decides to sit him down for a day or two as a precaution, Thomas Saggese and Jose Fermin would be candidates to see time at shortstop.

Winn was removed from Friday's game against the Red Sox after getting hit on the knee by a pitch, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Winn drew a walk in his first plate appearance before taking an 84-mph sweeper off his knee in the third inning. He was initially able to remain in the game but was eventually pulled when St. Louis took the field in the fifth. The Cardinals will likely send him in for X-rays to determine whether he suffered a fracture.

Correa (illness) will start at third base and bat sixth against the Mariners on Friday.

Correa missed the Astros' last two games while recovering from an illness. The 31-year-old had been trending upward prior to getting sick, going 7-for-26 (.269) with seven RBI and eight runs scored in his last seven games.

Sweeney (shoulder) was given a platelet-rich plasma injection Thursday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Sweeney began the season on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder strain and hasn't progressed as anticipated, so the hope is the injection will speed along the recovery process. The Tigers will develop a rehab plan for Sweeney based on how he responds to the injection.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Friday that Barger (ankles) will remain shut down from baseball activities through Monday's off day, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Barger is dealing with soreness in both ankles, though he's experiencing more discomfort in the left ankle. He is eligible to return from the 10-day injured list April 16, but given that he won't resume baseball activities until two days before that date, it's likely Barger will require more down time.

Brito will start at second base and bat sixth in Friday's game versus Atlanta.

The switch-hitting Brito started each of the first two games against lefties upon his promotion, and he will remain in the lineup as Atlanta sends righty Bryce Elder to the bump. Brito is 4-for-8 with a pair of doubles in the early going and could continue to see regular playing time at second base while Brayan Rocchio shifts over to shortstop to cover for the injured Gabriel Arias (hamstring).

Volpe (shoulder) is slated to begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Tuesday, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Volpe has been rehabbing at the Yankees' spring training complex but has rejoined the club this weekend with his rehab assignment around the corner. He has not played in any games since last year's postseason, so Volpe's rehab assignment should last a while. If all goes well, he could be ready for his season debut around May 1. Jose Caballero has been filling in at shortstop for the Yankees but will likely shift into a utility role once Volpe is back.

The Tigers recalled Perez from Triple-A Toledo on Friday.

Perez failed to make the Opening Day roster out of spring training, but he's now needed as a replacement for the injured Parker Meadows (arm/concussion). The 26-year-old Perez had a .738 OPS with 13 home runs and eight stolen bases in 100 regular-season games for the Tigers last year and had collected an .807 OPS with two homers and three steals in his first 10 contests at Toledo in 2026. He should see plenty of action in the Detroit outfield while Meadows is shelved.

Bogaerts went 2-for-6 with a grand slam, an additional run scored and two stolen bases in a 7-3 extra-innings win over the Rockies on Thursday.

Bogaerts had already put together a good fantasy line thanks to his two thefts when he came up to the plate with the bases loaded in a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the 12th inning. The veteran shortstop then launched a grand slam to left field to send San Diego home with the victory. Bogaerts started very slowly this season, posting a .308 OPS over his first eight games, but he's since turned things around, going 9-for-22 with two homers, five RBI and the pair of steals across his past five contests.
