Rodon completed 4.2 innings in a loss to Boston in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out five batters.

Rodon gave up a solo homer to Wilyer Abreu in the first inning but wasn't scored upon again until there were two outs in the fifth frame. He didn't end up surviving that inning, as the left-hander needed to be rescued from a bases-loaded situation that was caused by two singles, a walk and a hit-by-pitch. Rodon hasn't yet completed five frames since returning Aug. 18 from a lengthy stay on the injured list, though he did increase his pitch count to 88 on Saturday. He also racked up 16 whiffs, and he's posted a 2.84 ERA with an 11:5 K:BB across 12.2 frames since his return, so Rodon has been mostly effective as he builds his way back to a full workload.

Bennett (9-6) earned the win over the Yankees in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader, allowing three hits and notching seven strikeouts without walking any batters over six scoreless innings.

Bennett breezed through his six frames, throwing 59 of 83 pitches for strikes and scattering three hits. He racked up 14 whiffs and finished with his second straight quality start. It was the fourth scoreless outing of six-plus innings in what has been a very promising rookie campaign for the southpaw. He'll carry a 3.27 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 74:18 K:BB over 93.2 innings spanning 16 starts into his next appearance, which is lined up to be a road tilt in Baltimore.

Basallo was removed from the eighth inning of Saturday's game against the Athletics due to an apparent right hand injury, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Basallo blocked a pitch with his right hand in the seventh inning and initially stayed in the game after being checked on by trainers, but he was removed from the contest following his plate appearance in the eighth, with Yohel Pozo taking over behind home plate. The Orioles should have an update on Basallo once he undergoes more tests.

Beck was returned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following the second game of the Yankees' doubleheader against the Red Sox on Saturday.

Beck was brought up to serve as the 27th man Saturday and was deployed in Game 2, when he struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning to secure the Yankees' 9-2 win. He'll head back down to Triple-A, where he has a 9-2 record across 22 starts with a 2.75 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 133:37 K:BB across 121 innings.

Quantrill (6-5) took the loss against the Brewers on Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and no walks with eight strikeouts over six innings.

Quantrill was burned by two homers before settling in with four scoreless innings, generating 13 swinging strikes on 88 pitches en route to his third straight quality start. It continued a strong run for the 31-year-old, who boasts a 1.83 ERA over 39.1 innings since suffering a six-run loss July 17. He owns a 3.01 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 68:22 K:BB across 89.2 frames this season and lines up for a home matchup with the Rays next week.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said after Saturday's 9-2 win over Boston that Lombard's knee injury appears to be a day-to-day situation, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Lombard picked up the injury on a check swing during the second game of Saturday's doubleheader. The Yankees are still evaluating the results of Lombard's imaging, but the initial signs indicate that the 21-year-old shortstop has avoided a serious injury. Lombard may be held out of the lineup for a couple of days while continuing to be evaluated, which would open the door to more playing time for Jose Caballero and Amed Rosario.

The Red Sox are expected to be reinstate Story (sports hernia) from the 60-day injured list ahead of Sunday's series finale against the Yankees, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Story is expected to settle back in as the Red Sox's primary option at shortstop over the final month of the season after missing the past three and a half months while recovering from sports hernia surgery. The 33-year-old didn't fare especially well at the plate during his two-week rehab assignment, going just 6-for-35 (.171 average) with a 1:11 BB:K over 10 games for Triple-A Worcester.

Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy said after Saturday's 9-2 loss to the Yankees that both Anthony (finger) and Trevor Story (sports hernia) will likely be reinstated from the injured list Sunday, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Anthony and Story are both joining the Red Sox in the Bronx ahead of Sunday's series finale. There are corresponding moves that need to be made, but it looks like Boston is getting significant upgrades right before the calendar turns to September for the final weeks of the regular season. Anthony figures to see the majority of his playing time as the Red Sox's designated hitter in the absence of Masataka Yoshida (hamstring), though Anthony should also see a few reps in the outfield.

Nimmo went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Brewers.

Nimmo was a pest in a losing effort, tallying a homer and a steal in the same contest for the first time this season. It was a much-needed performance for the 33-year-old, who entered the game just 2-for-35 over his past nine contests and without a home run since Aug. 9. For the season, he's slashing .262/.327/.423 with 14 long balls, 51 RBI, 54 runs scored and seven stolen bases across 550 plate appearances.

Martinez did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Padres, allowing three runs on seven hits and no walks with four strikeouts over six innings.

Martinez entered the sixth inning with a 2-1 lead before allowing a two-run homer to Ty France. The veteran hurler still notched his fourth quality start in eight turns since the All-Star break and owns a 3.72 ERA over that span despite two six-run outings. He'll carry a 2.99 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 91:22 K:BB across 153.2 innings this season into a road matchup with the Rangers next week.
