  • Tayler Scott RP | ATL

Astros' Tayler Scott: Scrubbed from 40-man roster

The Astros designated Scott for assignment Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Scott was bludgeoned for five runs over 1.2 innings in his lone appearance after the Tigers called him up Monday. He's clearing out to make room on the roster for Logan VanWey.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Tigers' Javier Baez: Taking seat Tuesday

Baez is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros.

Baez has a .557 OPS and 0:33 BB:K since the beginning of July and has been seeing more days on the bench since then. The Tigers will deploy Wenceel Perez in center field and Trey Sweeney at shortstop Tuesday.

  • White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Sitting out with side issue

Montgomery (side) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Atlanta.

Montgomery had to be pulled from Monday's contest with soreness in his left side. The White Sox are referring to him as day-to-day for the time being, but it's the type of injury that could wind up requiring a stint on the injured list. Chase Meidroth will play shortstop and bat ninth Tuesday.

  • Elvis Peguero RP | CHW

White Sox's Elvis Peguero: Moves up from Triple-A

The White Sox recalled Peguero from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.

Peguero has made one appearance for the White Sox since they claimed him off waivers from the Brewers earlier this month, yielding one run over 1.2 innings. He'll work in middle relief.

  • Owen White RP | CHW

White Sox's Owen White: Placed on IL with hip impingement

The White Sox Sox" data-type="SPORTS_OBJECT_TEAM" data-league-abbreviation="MLB" data-team-abbreviation="CHW">White Sox placed White on the 15-day injured list Tuesday due to a right hip impingement.

White evidently suffered the injury in a relief appearance in Monday's 13-9 win over Atlanta, during which he allowed four runs while recording just one out. The White Sox haven't provided a timeline for his return from the IL.

  • Red Sox's Brennan Bernardino: Summoned from minors

The Red Sox recalled Bernardino from Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday.

The Red Sox are swapping left-handed relievers, with Jovani Moran heading back to Worcester and Bernardino rejoining the big club. Bernardino has collected a 3.09 ERA but a less appetizing 36:22 K:BB over 43.2 innings with Boston this season.

  • Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Exiting starting nine

Narvaez is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.

Narvaez had started each of the previous two contests, but he'll begin Tuesday's festivities on the bench. Connor Wong will do the catching and bat ninth for the Red Sox.

  • Red Sox's Ceddanne Rafaela: Out of lineup Tuesday

Rafaela is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.

Rafaela is just 5-for-42 (.119) over his last 12 contests, so he'll get a day to regroup. Romy Gonzalez will occupy second base and Jarren Duran will patrol center field for the Red Sox.

  • Max Anderson 2B | DET

Tigers' Max Anderson: Keeps hitting after promotion

Anderson is hitting .308 with two home runs in six games since getting promoted to Triple-A Toledo on Aug. 11.

Anderson has had a breakout year and slashed .306/.358/.499 with 14 home runs and a 14.6 percent strikeout rate in 90 games for Double-A Erie prior to his promotion. He will always be a hit-over-power player, but Anderson has hit for enough power this year to give himself a chance to make it as an everyday second baseman. If Gleyber Torres leaves in free agency this offseason, Anderson and fellow prospect Hao-Yu Lee could earn playing time at second base in 2026.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Yankees' Amed Rosario: Back from IL

The Yankees reinstated Rosario (collarbone) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

The utility man is returning from the injured list after missing just the 10-day minimum due to a collarbone SC joint sprain. Rosario likely won't be a consistent presence in the lineup since New York's starting infield is currently healthy, but he should still see semi-regular playing time.
