Alcantara did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Dodgers, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out four.

While he didn't come away with the win, Alcantara did deliver a second straight quality start en route to an eventual 3-2 Miami victory. Alcantara has delivered quality starts in five of his seven outings this season. His ERA sits at 3.04 with a 1.16 WHIP and 31:15 K:BB across 47.1 innings. Alcantara is currently lined up to face the Orioles at home his next time out.

Hamilton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

With the Diamondbacks sending southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez to the bump, Hamilton will hit the bench along with fellow left-handed hitters Garrett Mitchell and Sal Frelick. Joey Ortiz will draw the start at shortstop in Hamilton's stead.

Frelick is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

After taking a seat against Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola on Sunday, the left-handed-hitting Yastrzemski will check out of the lineup against a lefty (Tarik Skubal) on Wednesday. Eli White will draw the start in left field in his stead, but Yastrzemski still projects to see the bulk of the playing time at the position.

Soto said Wednesday that he's continuing to make progress in his recovery from right forearm tightness, but he doesn't have a definitive target date for when he might be ready to play the outfield again, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

Soto will serve as the Mets' designated hitter and No. 2 batter in Wednesday's game against the Nationals and should remain a lineup regular in a non-defensive role while he manages the forearm issue, which cropped up last Friday. The 27-year-old played catch Wednesday and is expected to continue gradually stretching out his throwing distance over the next few days until the Mets are confident that he can make all the necessary throws from his usual spot in left field.

Tena is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

The left-handed-hitting Tena will hit the bench for the fifth game in a row, though the Nationals have faced four left-handed starters during that stretch. Even so, Tena looks like he might have to settle for a part-time role against right-handed pitching, with Jorbit Vivas having built a case for more opportunities.

Garcia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Garcia will head to the bench as the Nationals load up the lineup with right-handed bats to counter Mets southpaw David Peterson. Curtis Mead will fill in for Garcia at first base and will bat second.

Millas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Millas had started in three of the previous four games, but he'll give way to Keibert Ruiz on Wednesday. The playing time between the two backstops has been split fairly evenly throughout the season, with Ruiz drawing 16 starts to Millas' 15.

Triolo (knee) went 3-for-4 with a home run, a walk, three RBI and an additional run Tuesday in a rehab game with Double-A Altoona.

Triolo has moved his minor-league assignment to Altoona this week after appearing in a pair of games last week for Single-A Bradenton. The 28-year-old logged nine innings at third base Tuesday, but the Pirates may want to see him play full games on back-to-back days before bringing him back from the injured list. Once Triolo is activated, he could reclaim the primary role at third base from Nick Gonzales.
