The 28-year-old outfielder is entering his penultimate year of arbitration eligibility after being traded from Miami to Houston at last summer's deadline. Sanchez posted a .740 OPS for the Marlins in 2025 but scuffled to a .611 OPS after being dealt to the Astros.

The Rockies and Freeman avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract Thursday.

The financial particulars of the deal aren't clear, but Freeman will get a raise in his first year of arbitration eligibility. Freeman had a nice first season in Colorado during 2025, slashing .281/.354/.361 with two homers and 18 steals over 110 games. He should play regularly in 2026, possibly bouncing around multiple positions.

The Rockies and Bernardino (lat) avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract Thursday.

The financials are unknown, but Bernardino will get a raise in his first year of arbitration eligibility as a Super 2 qualifier. The southpaw was acquired via trade from the Red Sox earlier in the offseason after posting a 3.14 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 43:26 K:BB over 51.2 regular-season innings during 2025. Bernardino's season ended prematurely due to a lat strain, but he should be recovered in time for the start of spring training.

Casas (knee) agreed to a one-year, $1.61 million contract with the Red Sox on Thursday to avoid arbitration, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Casas' 2025 campaign was disappointing, to say the least, as he slashed just .182/.277/.303 across 112 plate appearances before suffering a season-ending knee injury in May. His path to regular playing time at first base has seemingly disappeared as well, following the Red Sox's acquisition of Willson Contreras (shoulder) from St. Louis in December. It's worth noting that Casas has minor-league options remaining, so the team may decide to send him back to Triple-A Worcester if his struggles continue into spring training.

The Nationals and Garcia avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract Thursday.

It's unclear what Garcia's salary will be, but he'll receive a raise after making $4.5 million in 2025. The second baseman slashed .252/.289/.412 with 16 home runs and 14 stolen bases across 139 games this past season. Garcia will be eligible for salary arbitration a final time next winter before hitting the open market after the 2027 campaign.

The Marlins and Garrett (elbow) avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.53 million contract Thursday, Fish on First reports.

Garrett will receive the same salary for a second straight year after he missed all of the 2025 season following UCL revision surgery with an internal brace on his left elbow. The southpaw is a little over a year removed from the operation and it's unclear whether he will be ready in time for Opening Day.

Baker agreed to a one-year, $1.275 million contract with the Rays on Thursday to avoid arbitration, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Baker didn't live up to the expectations the Rays had for him when they traded for him in July, as he put up a 4.75 ERA and 1.12 WHIP over 30.1 innings while working as a setup man. He'll get another chance to redeem himself in 2026, as the Rays are expected to open the campaign with Griffin Jax, Garrett Cleavinger and Edwin Uceta working as a closer committee.

The Mets and Torrens avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $2.275 million contract Thursday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Torrens was eligible for salary arbitration for a final time. He put up a .629 OPS for the Mets in 2025 and is again slated to serve as the backup catcher behind Francisco Alvarez (thumb) in 2026.

Falter (biceps) agreed to a one-year, $3.6 million contract with the Royals on Thursday to avoid arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Falter failed to make a positive first impression with the Royals after being traded from Pittsburgh at the deadline, as he allowed 15 earned runs over just 12 innings before spending the final month of the season on the injured list due to a biceps contusion. He's likely to be fully recovered by the time spring training starts, at which point he'll compete for a spot in Kansas City's rotation.

The Phillies and Marsh avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $5.2 million contract Thursday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Marsh had been eligible for arbitration for a second time. The outfielder slashed .280/.342/.443 with 11 home runs across 133 regular-season contests for the Phillies in 2025. Marsh is slated to open 2026 as the team's primary left fielder and will likely see most of his starts versus right-handed pitching.
