Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Saturday that Martinez (elbow) will shift his rehab assignment to Triple-A Reno during the upcoming week, MLB.com reports.

Martinez made the first two appearances of his rehab assignment with Single-A Visalia on Tuesday and Friday, striking out three batters over two no-hit innings between the outings. The right-hander will likely continue his rehab assignment for at least one more week, but if he continues to excel during his time at Reno, he could step into a prominent role in the Arizona bullpen upon his return from the 60-day injured list. Arizona is currently taking a committee approach to the closer position after Paul Sewald was removed from the role in late July.

Rea allowed two runs on four hits and two walks across four innings of relief in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Royals.

This was Rea's first relief appearance since getting skipped in the rotation following Chicago's acquisition of Kevin Gausman and Clay Holmes before the trade deadline. Holmes made his team debut Saturday and was shaky in his four innings of work, allowing fours runs on six hits and two walks. It was also his first appearance in nearly two months due to a fractured fibula, so he likely just needs to shake off a little rust. That should leave Rea in a bullpen role for now, though he is capable of starting if a need arises.

Perdomo went 1-for-4 with a walk, a triple and a run scored in Saturday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to the Dodgers.

Perdomo was one of a few Diamondbacks in the upper half of the batting order that had been struggling coming out of the All-Star break, but he's rebounded nicely and was recently elevated to leadoff. The shortstop has five multi-hit games over his last nine contests, during which he's gone 15-for-37 (.405) with one double, two triples, one home run, five RBI and four runs scored.

Happ went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Royals.

Happ went long against Kansas City starter Seth Lugo in the sixth inning for his 19th home run of the season. The veteran outfielder is on the cusp of his fourth straight 20-homer campaign and the sixth of his 10-year MLB career. Overall, Happ is slashing .212/.322/.411 across 114 games, and he's chipped in 49 RBI and 67 runs scored as well.

Thorpe (elbow) struck out three and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks across four innings Wednesday in a rehab start at Double-A Birmingham.

Making the fourth start of his rehab assignment as he makes his way back from April 2025 Tommy John surgery, Thorpe built up to 68 pitches (43 strikes). Overall, Thorpe has compiled a 3.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 13:5 K:BB in 12 innings across stops with Birmingham, High-A Winston-Salem and the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. The right-hander could need just one more rehab outing before he's considered fully stretched out and ready to return from the 60-day injured list, but it's unclear if the White Sox plan to include him in the rotation or send him to Triple-A Charlotte once he's activated. After demoting Noah Schultz to Charlotte on Saturday, the White Sox have an opening available in the rotation, but Erick Fedde could be moved from the bullpen or Jonathan Cannon could be called up from Triple-A to fill that spot if the club isn't convinced Thorpe is ready for a big-league assignment coming off major surgery.

Naylor went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs, a double and a stolen base in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Rays.

Naylor was the engine of the Mariners' offense in this contest, accounting for three of their eight hits. He had gone 0-for-9 over his previous three games, but he was batting .328 over the first 16 contests after the All-Star break before he hit the mini-slump. Naylor has struggled in the power department this season -- Saturday's performance finally got him to the 10-homer mark. He's added 23 steals, 42 RBI, 44 runs scored and 17 doubles while batting .262 with a .698 OPS through 110 contests.

Kirby allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out two over five innings in a no-decision versus the Rays on Saturday.

Kirby was steady, though he wasn't all that efficient, needing 99 pitches (63 strikes) to get through his five frames. He was again let down by his offense, getting just one run of support while he was on the mound. Kirby has allowed two runs or fewer in six of his last seven outings but has just three wins in that span. He's at a 3.68 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 112:28 K:BB across 132 innings over 22 starts this season. Kirby's next start is projected to be on the road in Houston.

Palacios went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Mariners.

Palacios' two-run single in the sixth inning ended up being the difference in the contest. The 29-year-old has gone 4-for-12 with four RBI over six games in August, and he's now started five straight games at second base. On the year, Palacios is batting .231 with a .682 OPS, five home runs, 10 steals, 34 RBI, 33 runs scored, nine doubles and two triples over 277 plate appearances.

Mullins went 1-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Mariners.

Mullins was also caught stealing once in the contest. The outfielder sat against a right-handed pitcher Friday, though he's done a decent job lately by going 12-for-49 (.245) with three steals and two home runs over his last 15 games. Mullins is still the preferred option for the Rays in center field, but he's prone to giving up some playing time to Jonny DeLuca. Mullins is batting just .206 with a .641 OPS, 18 steals on 26 attempts, 13 homers, 35 RBI, 43 runs scored, eight doubles and two triples over 100 contests this season.

Simpson went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Mariners.

Simpson has gone 11-for-27 (.407) over seven games in August, with all of his hits being singles. The outfielder also has four steals this month, giving him 31 on the year. He's batting .298 with a .682 OPS, no home runs, 23 RBI and 47 runs scored over 109 contests this season, posting rate stats virtually identical to his work in the same number of games a year ago. Most of his counting stats are slightly down from last year.
