Gorman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

With southpaw Matthew Boyd on the hill for the Cubs, Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol will give the left-handed-hitting Gorman the night off, which clears the way for Yohel Pozo to serve as the team's designated hitter. While starting in each of the past 12 games, Gorman went 11-for-44 (.250 average) with four home runs, nine RBI, seven runs and one stolen base.

Stott went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer and a pair of walks in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Reds.

Stott's homer, his sixth of the season, proved to be the decisive blow in the win -- the second baseman drove a two-strike pitch from Tony Santillan 405 feet over the right-field fence to put the Phillies ahead in the eighth inning. The 27-year-old Stott had been slumping coming into the day, going just 2-for-20 over his previous six contests. Overall, he's slashing .238/.310/.340 with 37 runs scored, 37 RBI and 13 stolen bases across 327 plate appearances this year.

Edman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros due to a right pinkie toe injury, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

It's unclear when Edman sustained the injury, but he'll sit for Sunday's series finale after starting the previous six contests. The utility man made his past three starts at second base, but he's expected to shift to the hot corner against right-handed pitchers this week to fill in for Max Muncy (knee), assuming Edman can overcome the toe issue.

Young is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

The rookie infielder will exit the lineup for the first time since June 22, ending a stretch of 14 consecutive starts. Jorge Polanco will step in at second base in place of Young, who could benefit from the day off after going 0-for-12 with five strikeouts over the past four contests.

Lowe struck out in his lone at-bat in Sunday's game against the Twins before he was removed in the third inning due to left side soreness, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays didn't clarify whether Lowe suffered the injury during his first-inning at-bat or during his two innings in the field. Regardless, Lowe's early exit ended up spelling an end to his 20-game hitting streak, which tied a franchise record. According to Topkin, Jose Caballero had been scheduled to receive Sunday off while he dealt with right arm soreness, but he was pressed into action at second base following Lowe's departure. Consider Lowe day-to-day until Tampa Bay provides another update on his status.

Farmer will start at designated hitter and bat sixth Sunday against the White Sox.

Farmer has been getting most of his starts against left-handed pitching lately, but he'll crack the lineup Sunday with righty Shane Smith on the hill. Since the start of June, Farmer has batted .178 with one home run and a 1:13 BB:K over a stretch of 16 games.

Taylor (hand) recently had his brace removed and has begun participating in "light baseball activities," per MLB.com.

Taylor suffered a fractured left hand when he was hit by a pitch during a game in early June. The utility man seems unlikely to be ready to return until after the All-Star break, though the Angels haven't specified a timeline for his activation. Taylor will likely serve in a part-time role when he's ready to play again.

Holliday went 4-for-4 with a double and a two-run homer in Sunday's 2-1 win over Atlanta.

Holliday was the lone Oriole with more than one hit in the game, and his biggest was a two-run blast off Grant Holmes in the third inning that proved to be the difference in a one-run victory. It's the second career four-hit game for Holliday, who had gone just 3-for-25 (.120) in his prior six contests coming into Sunday. Overall, the 21-year-old second baseman is slashing .260/.309/.415 with 11 homers, 36 RBI, 35 runs scored and nine stolen bases across 346 plate appearances.

Schneemann is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

With Tarik Skubal on the hill for Detroit, Schneemann will head to the bench after starting in each of the last three games. Will Wilson will replace Schneemann at second base and bat seventh.

The Guardians recalled Wilson from Triple-A Columbus on Sunday, and he'll start at second base and bat seventh against the Tigers.

Wilson will be up with the big club for the second time this season, taking the roster spot of Lane Thomas (foot). Wilson could be limited to a short-side platoon role during his latest stint in the majors, but he gets one of the toughest such assignments possible Sunday against Tarik Skubal.
