The Tigers activated Torres (oblique) from the 10-day injured list, and he's starting at second base and batting leadoff Tuesday against the Rays.

The 29-year-old has been on the shelf for the past month due to an oblique strain, but he's ready to rejoin the Tigers after a two-game rehab assignment.

Massey went 3-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 9-2 win over the Reds.

Massey added on to the Royals' sizable lead, launching a solo homer in the seventh inning as part of a three-hit effort. It marked the second baseman's first three-hit game of the season and second homer in as many days, the first time he has gone deep in consecutive games this year. On the year, Massey is now hitting .250 with a .731 OPS, five homers, 16 RBI, 14 runs and a stolen base across 125 plate appearances.

The Mets released Arroyo on Monday.

Arroyo might have exercised an opt-out clause in his minor-league contract, as he's hit .304/.333/.446 with five home runs at Triple-A Syracuse this season. The 31-year-old infielder has not seen any action at the big-league level since 2023.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch confirmed on MLB Network Radio that Torres (oblique) will be activated from the 10-day injured list before Tuesday's game against the Rays, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Torres has been sidelined since early May while battling a left oblique strain, but he's been cleared to return to action after playing two rehab games with Triple-A Toledo. Hao-Yu Lee and Zach McKinstry have shared the Tigers' second-base job since Torres went down, but with Torres returning to the active roster, McKinstry will likely shift to a super-utility role and Lee could be demoted back to Triple-A Toledo.

Marte went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 4-1 win over the Dodgers.

Marte extended the Diamondbacks' lead with a 111.9 mph, two-run missile in the eighth inning off Jack Dreyer. The second baseman has now homered five times in his past 13 games while slashing .389/.443/.759 with 18 RBI and 12 runs during that stretch. After a quiet start to the season, Marte's recent surge has raised his season line to .262/.317/.462 with 10 homers, 11 doubles, two triples, 35 RBI and 35 runs across 56 contests.

Semien went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 3-2 loss against the Mariners.

Semien rocketed the seventh pitch of his at-bat against Emerson Hancock over the left-field fence in the sixth inning to give the Mets a brief 2-1 lead. It marked Semien's second homer in as many days and third long ball across his past seven games, during which he has gone 8-for-23 (.348). It's been a challenging first season in New York for the second baseman, who's hitting .228 with a .630 OPS, six homers, 23 RBI, 23 runs and five stolen bases across 60 games.

Young went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk in Monday's 3-2 win over the Mets.

Young lifted the Mariners to victory, delivering a walk-off bloop single in the 10th inning. He's riding a five-game hitting streak, going 7-for-18 (.389) with a homer, three RBI, four runs and two walks during the stretch. With steady playing time at the keystone this season, Young is slashing .250/.325/.363 with 15 extra-base hits (four homers), 30 RBI, 26 runs and two stolen bases across 61 appearances.

Turang went 2-for-2 with two RBI, two walks, two runs scored, a double and a triple in Monday's 16-2 win over the Giants.

Turang recorded his second triple of the season and the 11th of his career. It was a breakout performance of sorts for the second baseman, who entered Monday in an 0-for-19 cold snap over his last six games. Through 244 trips to the plate in 2026, Turang is slashing an excellent .270/.401/.459 with seven home runs, 33 RBI, 46 runs scored and nine stolen bases.

Lee went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 10-9 win over the Rays.

Lee's second home run at the MLB level was one of five long balls hit by Detroit in the high-scoring contest. The 23-year-old infielder is off to a fairly slow start with a .205 batting average and .578 OPS across his first 32 games in the majors, though he's seeing more playing time at second base with Gleyber Torres (oblique) on the injured list. However, Torres could be back as soon as Tuesday, which would likely push Lee back to the bench or down to the minors.

The Rangers recalled Freeman from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Freeman was optioned last week after completing his rehab from a lower-back fracture, but he will rejoin the Rangers now as a roster replacement for Sam Haggerty (bereavement). The 25-year-old Freeman homered twice and reached base nine times over his last three games with Round Rock. Freeman could be sent back down later this week when Haggerty returns.
