  • Luis Arraez 2B | PHI

Giants' Luis Arraez: X-ray on foot comes back clean

Giants manager Tony Vitello said after Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Athletics that X-rays on Arraez's right foot came back clean, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Arraez appears to have avoided a fracture after fouling a ball off his foot in his first at-bat of the night before exiting in the fifth inning, but Vitello acknowledged that the 29-year-old infielder is "a little sore." The Giants will re-examine Arraez when he reports to the ballpark Wednesday, but if he's still dealing with swelling on the foot, he'll likely be held out of the starting nine for at least one game.

  • Cole Young 2B | SEA

Mariners' Cole Young: Blasts go-ahead homer

Young went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Pirates.

The seventh-inning homer, Young's seventh of the year, proved to be the decisive blow in Seattle's one-run victory. After a hot start to the month, Young had cooled off at the plate coming into Tuesday's matchup -- he'd gone just 3-for-20 in his previous six games. Overall, the second baseman is slashing .253/.319/.372 with 34 runs scored, 37 RBI and two stolen bases across 321 plate appearances this season.

  • Luis Urias 2B | TOR

Blue Jays' Luis Urias: Goes yard in Jays debut

Urias went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 9-7 extra-innings loss to the Astros.

Starting at second base and batting seventh in his Blue Jays debut, Urias made an immediate impact when he took Peter Lambert deep in the fourth inning to get his new squad on the board. Urias had been posting big numbers for Triple-A Reno in the Diamondbacks' system to begin the season, but over the last three big-league campaigns, the 29-year-old infielder managed just a .213/.319/.337 slash line over 611 plate appearances while suiting up for four different teams. Urias has enough pop and positional versatility to find a role on the bench with Toronto, but he's unlikely to be a useful fantasy asset if he does receive consistent playing time.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Crosses plate three times in win

Altuve went 3-for-6 with a double and three runs scored in Tuesday's 9-7 extra-innings win over the Blue Jays.

The veteran second baseman was a pest on the basepaths all afternoon, as he scored three or more runs in a game for the first time since March 30. Altuve has multiple hits in three of his last five games, batting .381 (8-for-21) during that span as he shakes off a slump that had seen him slash .158/.220/.395 over his first 11 games since returning from an oblique strain in early June.

  • Red Sox's Andruw Monasterio: Steps in at shortstop

Monasterio started at shortstop and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rockies.

Monasterio got the start at shortstop with Marcelo Mayer nursing a sore foot after fouling a ball off it the previous night. As the Red Sox were facing a left-hander, Colorado's Sean Sullivan, it's likely Mayer would have been held out regardless of the injury. Playing time has been sporadic for Monasterio, who's made just 28 starts and is slashing .223/.271/.355 with two home runs, 11 RBI, one steal and 12 runs scored across 45 total appearances.

  • Padres' Sung-Mun Song: Steals in consecutive games

Song went 1-for-3 with a walk, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning win over Atlanta.

Song has swiped a bag in each of the first two games of this series versus Atlanta. He did so Monday coming off the bench, and he was able to contribute again Tuesday in a start at second base. The infielder is still scrapping for playing time since Fernando Tatis continues to bounce between right field and second base. In a part-time role this season, Song is batting .208 with a .545 OPS, six steals, six RBI, seven runs scored and two doubles over 60 plate appearances. He's still looking for his first big-league home run.

  • Willi Castro 2B | COL

Rockies' Willi Castro: Smacks sixth homer

Castro went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Castro homered in his first plate appearance of the contest to tally his sixth long ball of the year. He's had strong production in June, racking up three homers, 13 RBI, 10 runs scored and one stolen base across 18 contests. Castro has benefited from 10 games at Coors Field and an additional three in Sacramento in that span, but he's still managed to take advantage of the positive-hitting environments.

  • Nasim Nunez 2B | WAS

Nationals' Nasim Nunez: Swipes two bags in loss

Nunez went 1-for-3 with a walk, two RBI, one run scored and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 14-9 loss to the Phillies.

Nunez drove in two runs and stole a bag in the fourth inning before notching his fourth multi-steal effort of the season in the seventh. It continued a torrid June for the 25-year-old, who's hitting .407 for the month and is currently riding a nine-game hitting streak that includes six multi-hit contests. For the year, he's slashing .242/.325/.287 with seven extra-base hits (no home runs), 26 RBI, 31 runs scored and a major-league-leading 31 stolen bases across 258 plate appearances.

  • Edmundo Sosa LF | PHI

Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Drives in five in win

Sosa went 2-for-5 with home run, a double, five RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 14-9 win over the Nationals.

Sosa got an unexpected start when Kyle Schwarber (back) was a late scratch, and he matched a career high with five RBI in a back-and-forth affair. Despite playing sparingly in June, the 30-year-old has gone 11-for-36 with two homers, eight RBI and six runs scored across 12 games. For the year, he's slashing .238/.274/.413 with five home runs, 24 RBI, 17 runs scored and two steals across 45 plate appearances and has recently been getting some time in the outfield with Adolis Garcia (lat) done for the season.

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Monster performance in win

Stott went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 14-9 win over the Nationals. He was also hit by a pitch.

Stott was a thorn in the Nationals' side all game, and he delivered what proved to be the game-winning three-run homer in the top of the ninth inning. While the long ball was the 28-year-old's first of the month, he's hit .304 with 13 RBI, 13 runs scored and five stolen bases through 20 June contests. For the year, he's slashing .241/.298/.403 with seven home runs, 39 RBI, 29 runs scored and 15 steals across 277 plate appearances.
