  • Padres' Brandon Drury: Drives in four

Drury went 2-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored Wednesday against the Giants.

Drury took Yunior Marte deep for a three-run homer in the sixth inning to record his 22nd long ball of the season. He has hit only .185 across 25 at-bats and eight games since joining the Padres, though he's also tallied two homers, 10 RBI and four runs scored in that span. For the season, Drury has a .268/.329/.515 line across 416 plate appearances.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Drives in three

Kemp went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and three RBI Wednesday against the Angels.

Kemp was one of the few sources of offense for the Athletics on Wednesday, as he came to the plate with the bases loaded in the seventh inning and managed a bases-clearing double. Since the All-Star break, Kemp has hit .283 with 11 RBI and five runs scored across 52 plate appearances. He should remain a regular in Oakland's lineup against right-handed pitching, but overall he has just a 77 wRC+ and .269 wOBA in 101 games for the season.

  • Luis Rengifo 3B | MIL

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Slugs three-run homer

Rengifo went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run Wednesday against the Athletics.

Rengifo took Sam Moll yard in the sixth inning for his sixth homer of the season. He has quietly been productive since July 10, homering twice with 14 RBI and 11 runs scored in 26 games. For the season, Rengifo has posted a respectable 105 wRC+ and .316 wOBA across 300 plate appearances.

  • Jordan Diaz 3B | ATH

Athletics' Jordan Diaz: Intriguing returns in Double-A

Diaz is hitting .309/.354/.500 with 14 home runs and a 22:60 BB:K through 89 games for Double-A Midland this season.

There was some concern about whether he would be able to sustain his productivity in High-A last year (.821 OPS) at a higher level of baseball, but he's done that and more. The power (40 extra-base hits) and the contact ability (15.6 percent strikeout rate) make Diaz an exciting hitting prospect despite his defensive limitations. Previously a third baseman by trade, Diaz has appeared there just seven times this year, as he's mostly played first base or served as the DH.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Goes deep Wednesday

Hoerner went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Nationals.

Hoerner went deep in the seventh inning, giving him seven home runs this season. That's a career best for the infielder, who is also up to a career-high 95 games played this season. Hoerner isn't known for his power, though his even .300 batting average certainly carries some fantasy value. He should continue to see regular playing time moving forward for the rebuilding Cubs, and the 25-year-old should be squarely in their 2023 plans as well.

  • Nolan Gorman 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Takes seat Wednesday

Gorman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game at Colorado, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Gorman went 1-for-5 with a double, a run and a strikeout in Tuesday's series opener and will head to the bench for Wednesday's contest. Albert Pujols will start at first base while Paul Goldschmidt rests his legs as the designated hitter.

  • Luis Garcia 1B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Dealing with sore knee

Garcia was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Cubs due to right knee soreness, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

The 22-year-old was originally in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale, but he was pulled due to the knee issue. Garcia isn't expected to require a trip to the injured list, and he'll have Washington's scheduled day off Thursday to aid in his recovery ahead of Friday's series opener versus San Diego.

  • Cavan Biggio RF | HOU

Blue Jays' Cavan Biggio: Sits after four straight starts

Biggio is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.

After starting each of the last four games -- two at first base and two at second base -- Biggio will head to the bench as the Blue Jays go with Vladimir Guerrero and Santiago Espinal at those respective positions. Biggio has gotten off to a nice start to August with an .816 OPS through six contests, and he could be able to maintain a part-time role for the Blue Jays until George Springer's (elbow) return from the injured list pushes Whit Merrifield to the infield on a more frequent basis.

  • Blue Jays' Whit Merrifield: Sits Wednesday

Merrifield is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.

Toronto will roll out an outfield of Lourdes Gurriel, Raimel Tapia and Teoscar Hernandez for the series finale while Merrifield heads to the bench after two straight starts. Since being acquired from the Royals on Aug. 2, Merrifield has gone 6-for-21 (.286 average) with three runs, an RBI and a stolen base through his first six games with the Blue Jays.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Not in Wednesday's lineup

Rojas isn't starting Wednesday against the Pirates.

Rojas is in the midst of a six-game hitting streak in which he's hit .320 with three doubles, five runs, three RBI and a stolen base. He'll get a breather while Emmanuel Rivera starts at the hot corner and bats sixth.
