Chapman (hip) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday and will undergo surgery to address a torn right hip labrum, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Chapman has been sidelined for the past seven games while dealing with right hip tendinitis, and he'll miss the remainder of the season as a result. The 27-year-old had started all but one of the Athletics' games prior to his injury, slashing .232/.276/.535 with 10 home runs and 25 RBI. Whether he'll be ready for spring training in 2021 remains to be seen. Seth Brown was recalled in a corresponding move, while Chad Pinder and Vimael Machin should see playing time at third base in Chapman's absence.

Chapman will sit for the seventh straight game with right hip tendinitis Saturday against Texas.

Chapman still hasn't been placed on the injured list, though if he had been when he first suffered the injury, he'd be eligible to return next Thursday. Given that he's still yet to resume baseball activities and doesn't have a timeline to do so, it's quite possible he won't return before that date. Vimael Machin will serve as the third baseman Saturday.

Hayes went 2-for-4 with a stolen base during Friday's 4-3 loss to the Royals.

The long-time prospect has performed admirably in his small MLB sample size, hitting .357 in 28 at-bats to kick off his time in a Pirates uniform. A career .279 hitter in the minors (including just a .261 average in 2019), time will tell if Hayes remains an above-average bat in the show.

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Friday but the Indians fell to the Twins, 3-1.

Ramirez had been in and out of the Indians' lineup throughout the week while dealing with a left hand bruise and returned Friday with a ninth-inning home run to left. The 28-year-old is hitting .252/.353/.491with 10 long balls and 27 RBI and appears healthy enough to return as an everyday starter moving forward.

McMahon went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 8-4 win over the Angels.

McMahon tied the game at four with his ninth-inning solo shot, and Charlie Blackmon walked it off with a grand slam later in the inning. The long ball was McMahon's seventh of the year, to go with 19 RBI, 17 runs scored and a .216/.308/.424 slash line in 37 games.

LeMahieu went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during a 6-0 win over the Orioles in the first game of Friday's doubleheader.

He stayed hot in the nightcap, going 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and two runs scored. LeMahieu is slashing a dazzling .359/.410/.550 through 35 games with six homers, two steals, 14 RBI and 27 runs from the top of the Yankees' batting order.

Senzel (undisclosed) is not expected to be activated over the weekend but could return for the Reds' upcoming homestand, which begins Monday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Senzel last played Aug. 14, so it would be an exactly one-month absence if he returns to the lineup Monday. The Reds never clarified the nature of his absence, but given that it coincided exactly with the team's brief pause due to an unnamed member of the organization testing positive for COVID-19, it's not hard to connect the dots. He's been able to work out since the start of September, so he should be ready to go soon.

Moustakas' X-rays on his foot came back negative Friday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Moustakas left Thursday's game against the Cubs after getting hit in the foot by a pitch and is not in the lineup Friday against the Cardinals. Given that he's avoided a fracture, however, it's likely that he'll be able to return to the lineup before too long.

Ramirez (hand) is starting at third base and batting third Friday at Minnesota.

The 27-year-old has been battling a left hand bruise throughout the week and will return to the lineup after sitting out Thursday's game. Ramirez is 3-for-19 with one homer, two RBI and three walks over his past six games.

Moustakas (foot) is not in the lineup for Friday's game against St. Louis.

Moustakas left Thursday's game against the Cubs after a pitch hit his foot. The injury is evidently serious enough for him to miss at least one game. Freddy Galvis will be the second baseman in his absence.
