Stanton (hamstring) has a good chance to return from the injured list by next weekend, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Stanton is expected to receive some at-bats at the Yankees' alternate training site within the next few days, with an eye toward returning soon after that. The oft-injured outfielder played in just 14 games this season before straining his hamstring, though he looked as good as ever over that stretch, hitting .293/.453/.585.

Choi is not in Thursday's lineup against the Red Sox.

He will take a seat with a lefty (Mike Kickham) on the mound for Boston. Mike Brosseau will start at first base and bat fourth.

Ohtani is not in Thursday's lineup against the Rangers.

He is usually in the lineup against righties, so it's a little odd that he will sit this one out with Kyle Gibson on the hill for Texas, but Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports that it's just a regular day off. Matt Thaiss gets the start at designated hitter and will bat second.

Torrens went 2-for-4 with a double and a run in a loss to the Giants on Tuesday.

The recently acquired backstop, much like former Padres teammate and fellow trade-deadline arrival Ty France, is thriving in his new Seattle digs. Torrens has now hit safely in three straight games, with Tuesday's double marking his first extra-base hit in a Mariners uniform. Overall, Torrens has reached safely in all four games of his tenure with his new squad, scoring twice along the way.

Lewis went 2-for-5 and added a stolen base in Tuesday's loss against the Giants.

Lewis got off to a strong start this season but has crashed down to earth over the last few weeks, and he is hitting just .171 with a .618 OPS, two home runs and three RBI over his last 10 games. In fact, this was his first multi-hit game since Aug. 22, when he produced three knocks against the Rangers.

Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in a loss to Texas on Tuesday.

Lots of things have gone wrong for Ohtani this season -- in addition to getting hurt again on the mound, he has posted a subpar .194 batting average -- but the slugger has at least been able to flash his ability on the basepaths, going a perfect 7-for-7 in steal attempts, tying him for the 10th-highest figure in the AL. He has been especially proficient in that category of late, swiping five bags over his last 11 games.

Brantley went 5-for-6 with a home run, three doubles, two runs, two RBI and a walk during Tuesday's doubleheader against Oakland.

Houston combined for only 13 hits between the two games, with Brantley powering the offense with four extra-base knocks. The veteran slugger is 18-for-42 with three homers, six doubles, nine runs and 12 RBI across his past 12 contests.

Rooker went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run during a 6-4 loss to the Cardinals in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

After sitting on the bench during a 7-3 win by the Twins in the matinee, Rooker took over for Jake Cave in right field during the nightcap and launched his first career homer off Daniel Ponce de Leon in the second inning to briefly give Minnesota a lead. Rooker hasn't look out of place since his promotion, slashing .278/.316/.500 through his first six MLB games with five RBI.

Buxton isn't in the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Buxton went hitless in three at-bats during Tuesday's matinee, and he'll take a seat for the second game. LaMonte Wade will start in center field.

Soler was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right oblique strain.

While Soler will be eligible to return Sept. 16 at Detroit, the nature of the injury could prevent him from returning before the end of the regular season. The Royals will likely mix and match at designated hitter going forward.
