The Yankees designated Misiewicz for assignment Monday.

The transaction opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for utility man Jon Berti's (calf), who was activated from the 60-day injured list. Misiewicz made his lone appearance of the season with the Yankees back in June and had turned in a 3.47 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 30:5 K:BB in 23.1 innings over 21 appearances since returning to Triple-A.

The Phillies recalled Gilbert from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday.

Gilbert will offer the Phillies some length out of their bullpen after Philadelphia needed three relievers plus backup catcher Garrett Stubbs to cover the final 5.2 innings of Sunday's 10-1 loss to the Marlins. Starter Seth Johnson was optioned to Triple-A after starting Sunday and giving up nine earned runs across 2.1 innings in his MLB debut.

Booser (elbow) struck out a batter and gave up one hit in a scoreless inning in his rehab appearance Saturday with Double-A Portland.

Booser began his rehab assignment Aug. 29 with Triple-A Worcester, but he took a one-week break before making his return to game action this weekend, albeit at a different affiliate. The left-hander looked sharp Saturday and may require just one or two more appearances in the minors before returning from the 15-day injured list.

Burr will serve as the Blue Jays' opening pitcher in Monday's game versus the Mets, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Ryan Yarbrough will be a candidate to eat up most of the innings Monday as a bulk reliever. Burr had one previous opener assignment last month, allowing two hits and a walk but no runs over one-plus innings.

Miller (4-5) allowed a hit and a walk while failing to record a strikeout over 1.2 scoreless innings, earning the win Sunday over the Padres.

Spencer Bivens got the start but couldn't get through five innings. The Giants led 6-1 when Bivens was relieved by Miller, and they were able to hold the lead the rest of the way to give the southpaw reliever his first win since July 9. Since the start of August, Miller has a 4.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 21:11 K:BB over 14 innings. He's at a 3.65 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 78:34 K:BB with 12 holds over 61.2 innings this season.

Thornton (4-3) got the win against the Cardinals on Sunday, firing two scoreless innings during which he allowed a hit and recorded two strikeouts.

Thornton played a pivotal role in the Mariners' pitching plans Sunday, providing two nearly perfect innings following an earlier-than-expected call from the bullpen due to Luis Castillo's exit as a result of a hamstring strain. Thornton threw 28 pitches over his two frames and produced his 10th scoreless appearance in his last 11 outings, lowering his ERA under 4.00 (3.99) in the process. Thornton's versatility has been leveraged frequently this season, as he's logged a career-high 64 appearances that have helped him to a career-best nine holds and his most wins since he was primarily a starter for the Blue Jays in his rookie 2019 campaign.

Iglesias (5-1) picked up the win Sunday over the Blue Jays, giving up an unearned run on two hits and a walk over two innings of relief. He struck out one.

The Atlanta closer entered a tie game in the top of the 10th inning with a save chance no longer on the table, and while Iglesias allowed the phantom runner to score in the 11th, his offense walked it off in the bottom of that frame. Iglesias hasn't been tagged with an earned run since June 16, and on the season he sports a dazzling 1.18 ERA, 0.66 WHIP and 62:11 K:BB through 61 innings. He's three saves shy of tying his career high of 34, a mark he reached in both 2019 and 2021.

Shuster will be the White Sox's opening pitcher in Monday's game against the Guardians, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Shuster is stretched out to go multiple innings, if needed, but Nick Nastrini is a prime candidate to cover the bulk of the frames in the series opener. Shuster is opening a game for the third time this season after allowing two earned runs over 3.2 innings in the first two outings.

Tinoco has turned in a 1.47 ERA, 0.60 WHIP and 24:4 K:BB while collecting one win and five holds over 18.1 innings across 15 appearances out of the bullpen since the Marlins claimed him off waivers from the Cubs on July 30.

Tabbed to fill one of the openings in the bullpen that was created by the Marlins' fire sale ahead of the trade deadline, Tinoco has arguably performed better with Miami than any of the relievers (Tanner Scott, Bryan Hoeing, A.J. Puk, Huascar Brazoban and JT Chargois) that were dealt away. A 29-year-old journeyman who owns a modest 3.82 ERA over 74 career MLB appearances, Tinoco attributes part of his newfound success in Miami to his increased usage of a slider that he revamped while pitching overseas in Japan in 2023, per Kevin Barral of FishOnFirst.com. Tinoco has quickly moved into a high-leverage role out of the Marlins bullpen, and he could now get a chance to pick up saves down the stretch after incumbent closer Calvin Faucher (shoulder) landed on the injured list Saturday. John McMillon and Anthony Bender loom as potential challengers for closing duties.

Cronin (undisclosed) struck out two batters and collected a hold across two perfect innings of relief in his first two appearances of September on Wednesday and Saturday.

Cronin was lifted during an extended relief appearance Aug. 29 in Colorado due to an apparent injury, but he returned to action just under a week later to remove any lingering concern about his health. The 26-year-old righty has picked up four of his six holds on the season in the past month and could be primed to pitch in more high-leverage situations down the stretch with Calvin Faucher (shoulder) recently joining Andrew Nardi (elbow) on the shelf.
