Bednar has thrown five scoreless innings with a 7:0 K:BB with Triple-A Indianapolis.

Bednar struggled through an inconsistent 2024 season, though it was still a surprise when he was demoted after three poor appearances to kick off the new campaign. While it's a limited sample against a lower level of competition, he seems to have regained some confidence with Indianapolis. Dennis Santana has fared well in his duties as closer since Bednar was optioned, though it wouldn't be surprising to see Bednar get another chance in the big leagues sometime soon.

Weissert (1-0) struck out three over 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the win in Wednesday's 1-0 victory over Tampa Bay.

Boston's bullpen dominated the Rays with Weissert kicking off the effort. He entered in the bottom of the fifth inning with two on and two out and struck out Yandy Diaz after falling behind 2-0. The righty then set down all three hitters in the sixth, including two by strikeout. It was the eighth scoreless appearance out of nine for Weissert, who owns a 2.08 ERA with 11 strikeouts and one walk over 8.2 innings.

Moreta (elbow) has begun throwing live batting practice, MLB.com reports.

Moreta missed all of the 2024 season due to Tommy John surgery but has progressed without significant setbacks in his recovery. He's expected to return to the Pirates' bullpen at some point around midseason.

Whitlock allowed one hit and struck out four over two scoreless innings to earn a hold in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Rays.

The Red Sox received stellar work from the bullpen, which allowed one hit and struck out nine over 4.1 innings. Whitlock, who made his fifth multi-inning appearance, threw 24 pitches (21 strikes) to navigate the seventh and eighth innings for his second hold. That set up the save for Justin Slaten. Whitlock sports a 2.31 ERA with nine hits and four walks allowed while striking out 15 over 11.2 innings (seven outings).

Holderman (knee) has progressed to throwing live batting practice and is expected to begin a rehab assignment soon, MLB.com reports.

Holderman has been on the injured list since April 6 but has made progress toward a return. He struggled in high-leverage spots to begin the season by allowing at least one earned run in four of his five appearances before the injury. However, with the Pirates' bullpen still in flux, Holderman could mix in for saves if his performance stabilizes.

Miller allowed a walk and struck out two over a scoreless inning, earning a hold in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Marlins.

Miller opened the bottom of the seventh and recorded his third hold. The walk was just the third baserunner he's allowed all season. The 34-year-old right-hander, in his first season with the Diamondbacks, has yet to allow a run or hit over eight innings (seven outings). Along with Jalen Beeks, another newcomer that preceded Miller with a scoreless sixth inning, the duo has combined to post a 0.48 ERA over 18.2 innings

Beeks threw a scoreless third of an inning, striking out the lone batter faced, and earned a hold in Wednesday's 6-2 win over Miami.

Beeks required the three-pitch minimum -- all four seamers -- to strike out Liam Hicks and strand a runner. It was the seventh scoreless outing out of eight for the left-hander, who has given Arizona good depth in the bullpen during his first season with the team. Beeks has allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out 10 over 10.2 innings.

Martinez worked a scoreless inning, retiring all three batters he faced in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Marlins.

With the Diamondbacks holding a 4-1 lead entering the eighth inning, manager Torey Lovullo had the late-game crew -- Martinez and A.J. Puk -- warming in the bullpen. Arizona then scored twice in the top half of the inning, increasing the lead to beyond what would qualify as a save. Lovullo stuck to the plan and had Puk work the bottom of the eighth with left-handers due up, then brought in Martinez to finish up. The latter needed just eight pitches to seal the win, making his seventh straight scoreless appearance to start the season.

Scott earned a save against the Rockies on Wednesday, allowing one hit and striking out three batters in a scoreless inning of work.

Scott was tasked with protecting a one-run lead in the ninth inning. The lefty allowed a two-out single but otherwise overwhelmed Colorado, recording all three of his outs on punchouts. Scott needed just 10 pitches to record that trio of strikeouts, and he notched an impressive six whiffs on those offerings. He is tied for the third in the league with six saves on the season and has posted a standout 10:0 K:BB over 10 innings.

Jackson earned a save against the Angels on Wednesday, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.

Jackson made quick work of Los Angeles to protect a two-run lead in the ninth frame, as he needed just six pitches to get through the inning. The right-hander was rewarded with his sixth save of the campaign, though this was his first save (and first save opportunity) since April 5. Jackson is tied for third in MLB in saves on the season, and since giving up three runs in his season debut March 27, the right-hander hasn't surrendered any runs over his subsequent eight outings, covering 7.2 frames.
