Chase d'Arnaud SS | SF
Red Sox's Chase d'Arnaud: Has first at-bat with Boston
D'Arnaud pinch-hit for Drew Pomeranz and beat out an infield single in the fifth inning of Tuesday's 11-7 loss to Milwaukee. It was the d'Arnaud's first at-bat since joining the Red Sox on April 28.
Until that point in the night, the Red Sox did very little against Wily Peralta despite the right-hander's inability to throw strikes. D'Arnaud then scored on a double by Mookie Betts, running through the stop sign put up by third base coach Brian Butterfield. The sequence served as a wake-up call for the offense but Boston's comeback was spoiled twice by its bullpen. With third base being the Red Sox's weakest of the field positions, there's an opportunity for d'Arnaud to establish a more regular presence in the lineup, particularly if he creates offense like he did Tuesday. At the very least, he'll be part of the pinch-hitting crew while Boston plays two more games in Milwaukee.

Allen Cordoba SS | CIN
Padres' Allen Cordoba: Gets spot start at short Tuesday
Cordoba started at shortstop and went 1-for-3 in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers.
The 21-year-old was expected to be part of a rotation in left field to replace Travis Jankowski (foot), but Cory Spangenberg has taken control of the position. With the recent trade for the right-handed Matt Szczur, it appears that Cordoba will see the majority of his playing time as a pinch-hitter while spelling Erick Aybar at short.

Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Astros' Carlos Correa: Rips three-run blast in win over Braves
Correa went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in the first inning of Tuesday's 8-3 win over Atlanta.
That bomb -- the first of back-to-backs, with Carlos Beltran following him up -- set the tone for this game early on. Unsurprisingly, Correa has seen a course correction after hitting just .196/.292/.250 over his first 15 games; he's since played in another 15 contests, hitting .323 with three homers, 12 RBI and 12 runs over that span.

Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD
Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Slated for thumb surgery
Rojas will undergo surgery on his broken thumb, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
The Marlins just moved Rojas to the 60-day disabled list, which closely aligns with his six-to-eight week recovery timetable from this surgery. This would line him up to return sometime around the All-Star break, but a more detailed return timetable should emerge as the summer rolls along.

Shawn O'Malley SS | COL
Mariners' Shawn O'Malley: Has arthroscopic surgery Tuesday
O'Malley (shoulder) underwent arthroscopic surgery Tuesday and remains out for at least several more months, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
O'Malley went on the 60-day disabled list in part due to a recent appendectomy, but he's also taken the opportunity to clean up a less-publicized right shoulder problem. The veteran utility man turned in a solid spring (.278/.333/.278 with six RBI, three walks and four stolen bases over 16 games) before being hospitalized on March 21 for the emergency appendix procedure.

Dee Strange-Gordon SS | WAS
Marlins' Dee Gordon: Batting ninth Tuesday
Gordon will bat ninth Tuesday against the Cardinals, Craig Davis of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
The Marlins have dropped 10 of their last 13 and manager Don Mattingly has responded by dropping Gordon to the opposite end of the batting order, although it remains to be seen if this will be the new norm for Miami. Following an 0-for-3 showing Monday, Gordon now sits with a .262 average and .316 on-base percentage through 136 plate appearances this season. Tuesday marks Gordon's first start outside of the leadoff spot since he was traded to the Marlins.

Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD
Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Moves to 60-day DL
Rojas (thumb) was placed on the 60-day disabled list Tuesday, Joe Capozzi of The Palm Beach Post reports.
With the news coming that Rojas would be in a cast for two months, a trip to the 60-day DL seemed inevitable. With the added roster flexibility, the Marlins were able to purchase the contract of Tyler Moore from Triple-A New Orleans. More information on Rojas' status should come forth as he progresses in his recovery program.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Dodgers' Corey Seager: Leaves Monday's game for rest
Seager did not sustain an injury in Monday's game and was removed solely to get some rest, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
With the Dodgers up 10-0, they could afford to miss Seager for the final four innings. He was seen talking to a trainer before hitting the showers, but thankfully that was a false alarm. Expect Seager in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Dodgers' Corey Seager: Leaves Monday's game in fifth inning
Seager left Monday's game in the fifth inning with an undiscloseed injury after talking to a trainer, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
The Dodgers were leading 10-0, so they had no reason to leave Seager in with even the most minor of injuries. Consider him day-to-day until the club updates his status.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Needs another rehab game at Double-A
Crawford (groin) will extend his rehab assignment an extra day and play seven innings for Double-A Richmond on Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Crawford was expected to be activated Tuesday, but the training staff thinks he needs one more day before he's ready to return. If all goes well, Crawford will be activated Wednesday. The shortstop has been out since April 25; he had eight extra-base hits but just a .284 OBP before going down.
