The Blue Jays recalled Fluharty from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.
Fluharty hasn't been very effective in the majors this year, pitching to a 4.94 ERA and 1.27 WHIP through 47.1 frames. He'll rejoin the big club nonetheless to provide Toronto with extra bullpen depth, replacing the injured Chris Bassitt (back) on the active roster.

Wicks was recalled from Triple-A Iowa prior to Saturday's game against the Reds.
Wicks will return as left-handed bullpen depth after compiling a 3.55 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 77 strikeouts in 71 innings operating as a starter who typically pitches fewer than five innings. He has an 8.71 ERA and 2.03 WHIP in 10.1 innings in the majors this year.

Athletics' Sean Newcomb: Out with elbow inflammation
The Athletics placed Newcomb on the 15-day injured list Saturday with left elbow inflammation.
Newcomb's move to the injured list will ensure he remains out for the rest of the season, putting a stamp on his campaign after he turned in a 2.73 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across 92.1 total innings between the Red Sox and A's. Scott McGough was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas to fill the void in the bullpen.

The Athletics recalled McGough from Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday.
With Sean Newcomb (elbow) headed for the injured list, the A's will turn to McGough to provide the big club with depth in their bullpen. The 35-year-old has surrendered 10 earned runs in just 12 MLB innings this season but owns a 3.18 ERA through 39.2 frames in the minors. He'll likely be limited to low-leverage work.

The Brewers selected Zimmermann's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.
Zimmermann has been at Nashville all season, turning in a 4.11 ERA and 1.23 WHIP alongside a 109:30 K:BB through 138 innings. Now back in the majors for the first time since 2023, the 30-year-old will provide Milwaukee with a left-handed bullpen option capable of pitching multiple innings. Joel Payamps was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Brewers' Joel Payamps: DFA'd by Crew
The Brewers designated Payamps for assignment Saturday.
Payamps owns a 7.23 ERA and 1.61 WHIP through 23.2 innings in the big leagues this year, though he gave up just two runs in 5.1 frames during his latest run with the big club. He'll now lose his place on the 40-man roster for the second time this season, freeing up space for Bruce Zimmermann.

Orioles' Dom Hamel: Claimed by Baltimore
The Orioles claimed Hamel off waivers from the Mets on Saturday and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
A third-round selection in 2021 out of Dallas Baptist, Hamel was moved from a starting role to a relief role this year at Triple-A and made his big-league debut, logging one scoreless inning Wednesday against the Padres before being designated for assignment. Hamel had a 4.61 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 39:13 K:BB in 41 innings out of the Triple-A Syracuse bullpen.

Rays' Jesse Scholtens: Called up Saturday
Scholtens was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Scholtens, who was claimed off waivers by Tampa Bay on Aug. 4 after he was designated for assignment by the White Sox, has a 4.13 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 43:9 K:BB in 32.2 innings across seven starts for the Bulls. The 31-year-old righty hasn't pitched in the majors since 2023, when he logged a 5.29 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 85 innings for the White Sox. He'll likely work as a low-leverage reliever capable of getting more than three outs.
