Valdez allowed two runs on five hits over five innings Sunday, striking out six and earning a win over the Rockies.

Valdez was activated from the injured list and made his first appearance since April 2. He coughed up a pair of runs in the second inning but otherwise looked solid. He forced 13 swinging strikes and his sinker touched 96 mph. Through three starts this season, Valdez has produced a 2.60 ERA with a 16:6 K:BB across 17.1 frames. He's currently projected for a home start against the Mariners next weekend.

Littell (1-2) picked up a loss after he pitched six innings, giving up two runs on eight hits while striking out six batters in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the White Sox.

Littell opened the game with three scoreless innings before Chicago scratched across a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth, including an RBI single by Danny Mendick, which gave the White Sox a 2-1 lead. Littell was able to return to form and pitch two more scoreless frames before exiting after the sixth, securing his first quality start since March 30. The 28-year-old will carry a 3.27 ERA into his next projected start Saturday at home versus the Mets.

Winn (3-3) allowed a run on three hits and a walk over six innings Sunday, striking out five and picking up a win over the Pirates.

Winn fired four shutout frames before coughing up a run on an RBI groundout in the fifth. He's allowed exactly one run over six innings in three consecutive starts, earning a win in each. Winn has registered a terrific 1.96 ERA with a 21:6 K:BB over his last 23 innings, lowering his season ERA to 3.18. He's currently lined up for a start in Philadelphia next weekend.

Jones (2-3) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk over five innings Sunday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Giants.

All three runs against Jones scored during a disastrous third inning. He gave up five hits in the frame, including solo homers by Thairo Estrada and Mike Yastrzemski to start things off. Jones' historic strikeout pace slowed down as he forced only seven swinging strikes in the subpar outing. As impressive as the right-handed rookie has been, he's been tagged with seven homers through his first six starts. He'll carry a 3.18 ERA into his next start, which is lined up to be at home against the Rockies.

Whitlock (oblique) has not thrown off a mound yet in his recovery, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Whitlock has been on the 15-day injured list with an oblique injury since April 17, but he doesn't appear to be nearing a return quite yet. Manager Alex Cora said Sunday that the right-hander is "feeling better" but he "still feels it" in regards to his left oblique strain, barring the 27-year-old from progressing with any mound work. Chase Anderson was asked to start Thursday against the Guardians, and with Whitlock still unavailable, Anderson could stay in the rotation for the time being.

Fedde (2-0) earned the win after he pitched 8.1 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out nine batters in Sunday's 4-2 victory over the Rays.

Fedde tossed three scoreless innings before he surrendered a solo homer to Isaac Paredes in the top of the fourth frame. He later allowed another run in the top of the ninth when attempting to finish off the complete game, exiting with a runner on second and one out in the final inning. The 31-year-old has now recorded back-to-back quality starts while he's given up just three total runs over 22 innings in his last three outings. Fedde will carry a 2.60 ERA into his next projected start Friday in St. Louis.

Abbott (1-3) was tagged with the loss after he pitched 5.1 innings, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out seven in Sunday's 4-3 defeat to the Rangers.

Abbott struggled early, surrendering a pair of two-run home runs in the first inning, including an inside-the-park homer to Wyatt Langford, which gave the Rangers a 4-0 lead. The left-hander was able to settle down after the difficult first frame, tossing 4.1 scoreless innings to end his outing. Abbott entered Sunday having given up two or fewer runs in each of his five starts in 2024, but he'll now carry a 3.27 ERA into his next projected start Saturday at home versus the Orioles.

Javier (neck) threw a bullpen session Sunday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander landed on the injured list last Sunday with neck discomfort, but it's encouraging he's back on the mound a week later. Javier will be eligible to be activated during next weekend's three game series versus the Mariners, though it remains to be seen if he's game-ready at that point.

Wacha (1-3) was saddled with the loss Sunday, allowing four runs on nine hits over 5.2 innings against the Tigers. He struck out three.

Wacha was given an early one-run lead before he even took the hill but gave up three runs in the first two innings and four total while the Royals were able to support him with only that one first-inning tally. The veteran righty entered the day having allowed just two home runs over his first 28.1 innings but was tagged for two homers and two doubles amongst the nine hits allowed. Wacha's next start is tentatively scheduled to take place next week during a weekend set at home against the Rangers.

Dunning (3-2) earned the win after he pitched 5.1 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits while striking out 10 in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Reds.

Dunning was able to get back into the win column for the first time since April 12, recording a season-high 10 punchouts in the process. The right-hander tossed five scoreless frames before ultimately being tagged with a pair of runs, one of which was unearned, in the top of the sixth. Dunning also avoided giving up a home run in the outing, making it his first start in 2024 during which he was able to do so. The 29-year-old now owns a 4.13 ERA, and he's tentatively set to be back on the mound Saturday in Kansas City.
